A TRUE GEM!!!
THIS is an amazing school. The teachers WANT to be there and appear to really enjoy their jobs, the kids and they CARE. My daughter feels privileged to go to LVA - grateful she was accepted. Drugs and violence don't seem to be much of an issue here. They must keep up their GPA or they are asked to leave.... Theatre, Music, Dance and Language programs are TOP NOTCH!
This is a great elementary school and I feel very lucky that my kids get to go to this school. The principal, Toni Kuiper, is accessible and even makes herself available for a 6pm coffee and talk each month, which means working parents can still be very involved and know what is going on at school. The staff seem to work together on curriculum so there is a lot of continuity. They also have a great Safekey program.
A Long Time Ago
Gosh, let's see I went there back in 1995. Man, I'm old. But, I can say when I attended there were great teachers and I hope with time it's gotten even better.
This is a nice place to play after hours basketball. The janitorial service is great and the facility is always clean. It is a great school to play in.
Charter school focusing on Leadership
Our son has been going to Jo Mackey for two years now. He has been blessed to have wonderful teachers there. The administration is more lax than I would like but much better compared to other schools in the Clark County system. Like all the charter schools the earlier you sign up the better or you may not be able to get in.
