My daughter and I are getting along
I'm a stay-at-home mom right now. Before karate, me and my daughter actually argued a lot. I had a lot of talking back, and to get her to do anything was impossible, it was just a constant conflict. Actually, when we started coming to karate, we were having a very difficult time with her sitting down and doing her homework, and it was taking hours and hours on end because of procrastination and running in and out of the room, and then after having the mat chat and giving her something to work toward as far as her yellow belt and for the testing, she actually was coming home and first thing, she was sitting down at her desk and starting to do her homework.
Paul is a very competent/ confident teacher. He obviously knows his craft and understands how different individuals learn, and takes the time to teach the theory as well as the mechanics of all the movements and transitions.
