My son made honor roll at his school and as a reward was given coupons for several local restaurants. This one in particular offered a free kids meal as a reward. To celebrate his success we went out to dinner as a family. The atmosphere was great! Clean and well maintained and every surface just gleaming. All that was missing on the waitress' was old fashioned roller skates! We were seated immediately on a Friday evening and my son was treated like royalty. They took his order first, made sure he got refills of his home made strawberry lemonade (with real sliced strawberrys and lemon pulp!)The food my fiance and I ordered was extremely filling! The breading on our food (chicken strips and fish) was thin but not too thin... the amount of meat was shocking for the price. It was sooo much. We tried their deep fried pickles as a starter and we are addicted now. All in all the experience was great, the music the service the food and the ambiance was top notch!

I love diner type restaurants, especially ones themed as a 50's and 60's style diner. My friends and I always used to go to 5 + Diner during high school, or when I would come back to Phoenix to visit during college. Some locations have very late, if not 24 hour, hours so you can eat whenever you want! They serve the typical American food and breakfast items, but everything I have ordered has been good - with one exception for a meal my wife had once. We eat here fairly often and just enjoy the usually good service, good "comfort" food, breakfast at any hour, fun music and decor. The prices aren't bad, even if they had to increase them lately, they are still great for what you get in my opinion. And don't forget the shakes! So good! AND NOTE, IT IS 27th AVENUE not STREET for this location!

The food was great, the shakes are especially good. My wife & I loved the juke box at the table, it reminded us of when we were teenagers. The service was excellant, they even went out of their way to entertain our granddaughter with baloon animals.

Wandered into this restaurant on the advice of a friend and have thoroughly enjoyed the hamburgers ever since. Great with one of their Shakes or Malts, and they have a unique variety of both to choose from. The atmosphere is fun, with the 50's feel and the trivia included on their menus.

This 5 & Diner is extremely small, and cannot accommodate a party greater than 6 people. They have 2 tables that accommodate 5 people, 2 tables that accommodate 6 people; the rest of the tables only accommodate 2-4 people. Waiting for a table is slow because they are very busy; service is slow. However, the food is hot.

Average food - prices a little steep for my pocket. I got 2 meals & 1 shake. I went to a different restaurant a week later got the same food and paid $10 less.
