I've been really happy with the way A Forever Recovery handled helping my son and the results of his going there. For years my son used heroin and crack and there wasn't anything anyone seemed to be able to do to stop him. When my son finally decided to get help, after watching his best friend overdose, I went looking for a place for him and right away I knew that AFR would be a good place for him. They have such an amazing staff there. Some of which have dealt with addiction themselves. That personal experience with addiction helped my son tremendously. Firstly because he felt better understood there. He knew they had his best interests at heart and his willingness to get the help he needed was increased because of that understanding. Secondly because it gave him a clear view of what his life could be like when he graduated and stayed clean. They have multiple programs which aren't based on time but one evidence. He didn't move forward on his program until both he and the staff felt that he was completely ready. In going to AFR my son got the help he needed, was able to take as much time as he needed and he worked with people who understood what he was dealing with and who were committed to seeing him prosper. He got the best help he could have received by going to AFR. He's much happier and stable since going to AFR.

My brother went to A Forever Recovery last year and he's been doing amazing since then. Most of our family stopped talking to my brother years ago because of his addiction. Our mom never did though and my brother's always been able to manipulate her so she's never stopped giving him money or whatever else he wanted. My brother usually only went to rehab so he could continue to manipulate our mom. Telling her that he was trying. The last time my dad stepped in and sent him to AFR. He chose AFR for my brother to go to for a few different reasons. The most important one being that they have staff there who were addicts themselves. What that meant for my brother was that he couldn't manipulate his way through the program. With the different programs they have there and with the fact that there's no time limit anyone's there for it was perfect for my brother. He couldn't manipulate his way through the program, he'd be doing a program with a chance of helping him and he couldn't just wait out the time there. If he ever wanted to complete the program, he'd actually have to do the program. He hated it there at first because of that. The longer he was there though, the more he liked it until about a month into his program he made the decision to get and stay sober. He's been sober since completing his program and it's amazing.

I had a great experience at A Forever Recovery. I've only been to one other rehab facility but the differences between the 2 are huge. The differences are what made it possible for me to get the help I needed in order to stay sober. For one, they have many different programs to choose from when you're there and no time restrictions on how long you're there for. While at AFR, you do a program that works for you and you take as long as you need to in order to get it right. I spent 4 months at AFR and I enjoyed being there every day. Being at AFR was easy, the program itself wasn't easy, it was a ton of hard work. Because being there was easy though, because I actually enjoyed my time there I wasn't trying to hurry my program along. I took the time I needed to get it right and I've only gained because of that. I graduated from AFR 6 months ago and have been able to stay sober. I've done really well and while staying sober isn't always the easy thing to do, I have been able to do it. I've been staying with my parents and just the fact that I can, that I have an actual relationship with them again is worth everything to me. They've been very supportive and I've been able to go to them for help when I need it. I'm a different and better person because I went to A Forever Recovery.

I really liked going to A Forever Recovery. It was such an amazing facility to go to. The building the rehab's in is nice, clean and comfortable. You don't feel like you're in an institution. It's also in an area that's completely out of the way and for me that was exactly what I needed. A nice, quiet place where I could just concentrate on my recovery. The counselors at AFR are wonderful. They are so kind, caring and compassionate. They understand addiction and what it does to a person and their only purpose is to help you overcome your addiction and make your life better. Having different treatment options meant that instead of doing a 12-step program like I'd done in the past I was able to find a treatment option that worked for me and was exactly what I needed. I enjoyed myself at AFR which isn't something I could say about the other rehabs I've been to. They have activities to break up your time there plus a gym to work out in and yoga classes you can take. When I was going through my program at AFR I got healthy. The food's good while still being healthy. AFR is the first rehab I've gone to where I didn't leave overweight. Finding and going to A Forever Recovery has completely changed my life in the best way. I'm happier than I've ever been and that's due to counselors and the program at AFR.
