Worst car repair experience I have ever had. Took car in, having some sort of transmission issue. they kept car to test it and called and told me their diagnosis. I told them to proceed with repair. They called me a few days later and said car was repaired and ready to pick up. Upon getting in car and starting it up, the check engine light immediately came on and car would not move. They had mechanic rig car so I could take it somewhere else to be repaired. Just then a woman comes in furious about repair to her vehicle and threatening to call local news to report them. Please avoid this place, they are incompetent con artists.

Took the car in to have the transmission replaced and of course when they called it was a few hundred over the estimate. Then they called and said while they were testing driving it the fuel pump went out. Another $500! Save yourself the trouble and find someone else.

Took a truck to them and they said the rearend was going bad. It ended up being the transmission they "rebuilt" 20,000 miles before. It was diagnosed and fixed at another company. And the 2nd company replaced all the major parts for less than AAMCO charged to replace only the bad parts the first time.

Don't go to Aamco!! They are very discourteous, they try to overcharge, they wanted to keep my car for a week and didn't warn me, they are untruthful. I told them don't fix it, I paid the charge for them to put it back together, and I had it towed elsewhere. You are warned!!

My car broke down in front of this AAMCO and so had them repair it. They quoted $600 but told me the master and slave cylinders of my car needed repair. They then said the clutch needed repair. Total $1300. I saved this up and found went to pickup the vehicle. They said they had test driven it twice and it was working fine. Got in the car and the car was in the same condition as before not shifting into any gears and getting stuck. I found this amazing. I rode with one of their techs driving and he agreed that there is no-way anyone could have test driven this car and not found this problem. New diagnosis (600 more dollars for labor and then whatever the part will cost). Im not sure if I should stick with them. I KNOW Im being ripped off. For this money I could have bought another used car and the price has tripled from the initial quote. Update: Final price $2300 quite a jump from $600. Lesson Learned Yes.

My truck transmission died on me and because I live near Decatur and had heard the advertisements for AAMCO - I had my truck towed there. The guys were very nie to a woman - and my truck was soon back on the road at a very reasonable price. I recommend them - the one on Church Street.
