Went in to Dr. Hocker with pain in my upper back teeth. He said I needed 2 extractions and a bridge right away, & scheduled me for an appointment the following week. I specifically asked if he would put me under general anesthesia and he said no, but assured me he would use a local and nitrous. A couple of days before my appointment his secretary called to ask if I could delay my appointment 1 day. She didn't say why. I told her no-I had a business trip & wanted the work done before I left. When I got to the appt, the Dr. immediately gave me 2 shots. I wondered why he wasn't using the gas, but figured he would for the extraction. He then started filing my tooth and when he saw how uncomfortable I was he told his assistant to get the gas because it was apparent I needed it. I sat there for 20 minutes with my mouth completely numb until finally one of his staff came in to tell me that they were out of oxygen and would have to reschedule!! I reminded them again I was leaving town the next day so they just gave me another prescription for more pain pills. I wasted a full day of sick leave, and walked around in pain with my tooth filed raw for a week. When I returned I called the office to make an appointment to complete the work. The secretary(Rita) was extremely rude & unprofessional & acted like the whole thing was just a minor oversight. When I tried to explain the impact of their mistake, she hung up on me! This is a NOT a professional operation. STAY AWAY!!
