The Angel is the kind of place "where everybody knows your name." My regular waitress, Nicole, is very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu (which changes frequently--a big plus). The beer and wine selection is top-notch, the food is creative and yummy, and the trivia nights and half-off food Mondays earn extra points with me. Great outdoor seating as well.

unfortunately this Decatur pub recently closed. Really too bad. This really looks like an English pub - right down to the ugly carpet. My husband lived in England for a number of years and I've spent a fair amount of time there and we both like this place. The food is better than typical British pub food, but other than that it's pretty authentic. Great location and a nice garden are to sit out on a sunny day.

Attempted gastro-pub food falls a flat since they changed the menu. Burgers are pretty decent, but the service is incredibly slow. Mondays are half off on food, but even that doesn't make up for the disappointment here.

I shouldn't complain as the draft beers are wonderful and the decor is authentic, but the pub food at the other bars owned by the same chap is much much better.I understand the pub food in Scotland is even worse so I should count my blesings. The staff is realy nice and I hope the food will improve over time.

On par with an English Pub and similiar to its sister pub - the Prince Charles on Piedmont - the Angel is a good place to relax with a pint after work or on a Saturday. Take your friends there and hoist a few. Order some fish and chips. Moderately priced bar fare menu - but a good place to meet friends.
