Lose Weight for the Last Time!

Arizona Health & Wellness has been instrumental in my weight loss and life-style changes. The driving force behind the practice is Amy Ingersoll. Amy is very approachable and easy to talk to. Amy tandems with Dr Zhudi Jasser who is a well-known cardiologist, and also my primary care physician. Together we came up with a diet and exercise plan that has worked extremely well for me. In the first 16 weeks I lost 67 pounds. I have now lost close to 90 pounds and at a weight I have not seen since high school. I am now back eating carbs and on maintenance plan. Initially I was just walking on a tread-mill 30 minutes a day. I am now hiking over 30 miles per week. Over Easter week-end I hiked down to Havasupai Falls with my family. What an awesome experience. Amy is also a hiker/biker so has been very helpful with advice in that area. To me the most important thing about losing weight is to have a proper mind set. You have to want to commit, and want to do it for yourself. Until you want to do it for yourself, it won't happen. The thing that really motivated me was the fact that here I was, this huge 300 pound fat guy, who was somehow genetically blessed with reasonably good health (only 3 blood pressure pills a day, and one pill for gout -- today no pills and a blood pressure that is 120/70!The staff, Dr. Jasser, and Amy are all extremely supportive. I truly support and without hesitation endorse Arizona Health and Wellness. They are an amazing bunch!

    Loving the New Me!

When my 7 year old granddaughter sighed she would miss me when I passed, I put my life into perspective. At 62, I figured I only had 10 more good years, unless I took control of my weight. Six months ago, I started New Directions. The program consists of 3 phases: reducing, adapting, and maintaining. In the reducing phase, you choose 3 meal replacements per day, plus weekly interaction with the doctor and group meetings featuring lessons on behavior changes or exercise strategies necessary to make lifelong lifestyle changes. I found the meal replacements to be very good, easily prepared and really mindless. Adapting consists of reintroducing foods and maintaining is just that, making those behavior and lifestyles changes count for the rest of your life. I've lost 50 pounds and I'm loving the new me!

    A dynamic program!!

This weight management program is outstanding! I've tried to lose weight on my own many times throughout my life which ended up in a disaster. Being a 51 year old male at 5'9," 260lbs, and a BMI of 38.4 (Obese), I decided to say "enough is enough" regarding my weight on March 17, 2015. That morning I came in for my first appointment with Amy Ingersoll, PA-C, and told her that I was ready for a physical transformation. Over the next hour Amy sat with me and planned out the steps we were going to take not only to reach my goal of 200lbs, but also how this program was going to educate me in living a healthier lifestyle. I've now been in the program for almost 4 weeks and my current weight is 233lbs. I've lost a total of 27lbs with 33lbs to go! If losing weight and having a healthier lifestyle has always been a challenge to you, I would encourage you to contact Amy and her staff regarding this dynamic program. If you have the right mindset I have no doubt you'll be successful. Trust me, I haven't lost this much weight or felt this good in over 20 years!
