This home remodeling project was a nightmare and I am still discovering and having to correct work that was poorly or incorrectly done. While I believe Artesan is a knowledgeable contractor, they were not effective at communication, scheduling or budget control. My work is done, but, it involved far more time, energy and effort on my part than what it should have.

On the front end we were pleased with the service from this contractor. The price seemed fair and although not the cheapest quote we received, it was competitive. We had a deadline due to the arrival of our baby and Artesan had their staff on site everyday and early. We felt safe with these guys in our house. Unfortunately, some of the work was a bit sloppy, caulk that wasn't sanded, scratches in our hardwood floors, molding joints that were not very clean. In Artesan's defense they offered to fix everything, however, we felt that we had to monitor the work and it became stressful. It was also stressful that the paint crew broke 2 pieces of stain glass in our home. Although, Artesan offered to reimburse the cost, the painters were unhappy that they had to pay for it and blamed us for not hanging the glass correctly (even though this glass has hung for 3 years in our windows with no issue at all). Our baby arrived healthy and happy and the job was mostly complete, but phone calls were not returned from Artesan and it seemed that the honeymoon was officially over. In the end, we just wanted the job done and the project complete. Overall, we are very happy with the transformation of our house, the new crown molding, the Wanescote, tile, and the rest of the job. However, it was a little more work to get to the end than we expected it would be.
