Don't get me wrong, Dr. Ashraaf is one of the best out there, but administratively their staff could be better. First I scheduled through ZocDoc for the initial appt. 30-45 minutes to complete that online. I showed up and no one can find the documentation. I had to fill it out all over again by hand. After doing the Lasik, I was unable to schedule a follow up. I would call and get no answer. I understand that they are busy but no one would even return my voice message. I'd call again and get someone on the phone but they weren't the scheduler and told me that someone would call back. This never happened. After the back and forth for a few weeks, I decided to change doctors. The front end staff weren't very knowledgeable on the simple things and referred me to their lead which is Tonia. She did a good job following up via email when she wasn't busy but still couldn't get any solid results. They had a promotional on the radio for $2500 both eyes, but I couldn't get them to honor it. One of the staff prematurely charged my account before the operation date and Tonia told me that it was nothing she could do. In the end I ended up paying an extra $500 but it's OK because I can now see clearly. She did offer to throw in the insurance since they could not rectify the situation.

I was nervous about having LASIK. Dr. Ashraf and his staff calmed me and comforted me during the procedure by telling me exactly what they were doing and how long each step would take. The initial consultation was great as were the procedure day and subsequent post-surgery follow-up appointments. My vision is 20/20 and has been since about six weeks post-surgery. On surgery day, I really felt like I was the only patient there. I know I wasn't but I felt like I had everyone's complete attention.

I had my lasik done with Atlanta Vision Institute, and I can not say enough about Dr. Ashraf and his team. They walked me through the entire process and made me feel completly comfortable along the way. They let me know what to expect at every step of the process. I can now see 20/15 and have a new out look on life. I would recommend Dr Ashraf to anyone who wants improved vision.

I know two friends that had Lasik done at Atlanta Vision Institue and they were highly satisfied. I was really scared about the entire procedure but Dr Ashraf and his team are just wonderful. The surgery was over so quick and it didnt hurt at all. It was amazing to be able to walk out of the office without glasses. I took a nap directly after the surgery, and when I woke up I could see! My vision has been great since, I am happy I chose Lasik with Atlanta Vision Institute.

I am just like everyone else and want to share my experience. I was very skeptical and nervous about undergoing the Lasik procedure. I did extensive research and Dr, Ashraf is extremely qualified so I decided to schedule a consultation. I first met with Dr. Ashraf and he was very helpful of answering all of my questions. He also was very informative about things that I should know beforehand. After meeting with him I was relieved and felt very comfortable about the procedure. (I mean these are your eyes you cant just have anyone operate) The day of the procedure everything went very smooth and according to plan. It was even better than I expected. I want to recommend Dr. Ashraf because not only does he uphold his level of expertise that he promises but also makes sure you feel as comfortable as possible. It has been almost a month now and I feel great and have already had family members sign up for the procedure. I would do it all over again it was definitely worth every penny. In case your wondering I have no Stigmatism, but I still did the custom Lasik procedure.

I've worn glasses/contacts since the 3rd grade and I was very nearsighted (-6.75). I've been wanting to get LASIK for a while but have been too scared of the risks. After a friend had LASIK by Dr. Ashraf and raved about the results, I decided to look into it. I researched so many doctors online and decided to get a consultation with Dr. Ashraf because he had nothing but great reviews, has done over 40,000 surgeries, and my friend had a great experience with him. He immediately put me at ease and was very open and frank about the risks and expectations. He answered all of my questions and made sure I wanted LASIK for the right reasons (I walked out of there with no pressure to do it). I never had "issues" with my contacts, but I'm a triathlete and always get nervous about losing my contacts while swimming. I also hate wearing glasses at night to watch TV before bed. So I decided to schedule the intralase surgery and I'm so glad I did. The entire procedure took less than 10 mins and the laser was only on each eye for less than 20 secs. I went home and slept for 2 hours as instructed. When I woke up I was amazed! I could watch TV and see! My vision improved drastically the next day and I had 20/15 vision! I am 2 weeks post op and my vision is great. The only issues that I've had was a slight headache after reading my computer all day at work. But that was to be expected and hasn't happened since. I highly recommend Dr. Ashraf!

Getting LASIK at Atlanta Vision Institute was a great investment. The surgery was about 8 minutes long, and afterwards I went home and took a 3-hour nap. I was amazed when I woke up. I looked outside, and for the first time in 20 years, I could see the individual leaves on the trees. I opted for the Intralase (all-laser) procedure which, from my research, I found that had a faster healing rate. By the next morning, when I went back to Dr. Ashraf for my follow-up, I was already seeing 20/20. Within a few days, my vision was even better at 20/15. Before getting LASIK, I did a lot of research. Wolffson was the "big name" in the industry for the Atlanta area, but they treated you just like a product on a huge assembly line. Then I spoke with Dr. Ashraf at Atlanta Vision Institute. This guy is great. He answered all of my questions very direct and blunt. He let me know how *I* know whether LASIK is right for me; not just physically, but mentally: what some people have trouble adjusting too mentally after LASIK. After the consultation, I felt very comfortable that I was able to make an informed decision--which, let's be honest, that's the most important part, aside from the surgery itself. Great doctor, great staff, great experience. I would recommend Dr. Ashraf at Atlanta Vision Institute over anyone for those looking at LASIK.

Initially, I was very nervous about a procedure that involved my eyes. After doing some research and finding Dr. Ashraf at the Atlanta Vision Institute, I went in for a consultation, and my nerves turned to excitement. I didn't realize how simple the procedure was, and the fact that Dr. Ashraf has a top-notch facility didn't hurt either. He explained every bit of the process, and I felt like I was in good hands the entire way through. The procedure only took a few minutes, and the results have been life-altering. Before the procedure, I couldn't even drive without my glasses. After the procedure, I have 20/15 vision, which is better than normal. Waking up being able to see, swimming and not having to deal with irritating contacts or glasses in general have made my life so much easier. If you're thinking about lasik, the Atlanta Vision Institute is the best choice that you can make for your eyes!

Dr. Ashraf and his staff were excellent. I had my eye surgery a week ago and I am extremely happy with my eyes. I am still in the process of healing but my eyes are much better than before! No glasses or contacts!! Dr. Ashraf educated me on the good and the bad that comes with lasik. As a customer I want to know what I getting myself into because I only have one set of eyes. Mr. Ashraf was a burst of energy and he made me feel very comfortable with the procedure. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him! I just wonder sometimes WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG!!!!!

I was nervous about getting lasik, but Atlanta Vision Institute was extremely cooperative and professional and even worked around my school break to make sure I could see. Everyone there is friendly and do an excellent job. I can't tell you how glad I am that I chose them to do my lasik. I have had zero problems and see perfectly!!! :)

Worn glasses since I was five years old. I had many questions, did the research, and it led me to Dr. Ashraf at the Atlanta Vision Institute. The website (atlanta2020.com) is top notch and will answer many of your questions, then a no-cost no-pressure consultation with Dr. Ashraf and his team will take care of the rest. They made sure I knew what to expect every step of the way. It is obvious he cares about the outcome of each patient and I can highly recommend this doctor. Dr. Ashraf is one of the elite in his field: Impressive resume including Johns Hopkins, tons of experience (35,000 LASIK procedures, extensive research background, numerous articles published, etc), and unlike some doctors he has people skills (he wants you to be well informed and comfortable during the entire process). If you are worried that you may not qualify the percentage that can be treated successfully has increased quite a bit in the last several years. My prescription prior to surgery was stronger than most: OD was -5.25 -2.25 x 15 and OS was -5.25 -1.50 x 175. Now I see as well as I did with glasses (better than 20/20) and only need glasses to read small print (at 51 years old this was expected). Hope this review helps others who are on the fence. In short if you are considering laser vision correction you have found the doctor that will increase the odds of a successful outcome.

I went to Atlanta Vision Institute when I was tired of wearing and paying for contacts and glasses. I was severely nearsighted -- off the charts. The procedure was very fast and I felt nothing. I could see instantly after the procedure! It took a few days for the vision to stabilize, but it's been a year now, and my vision is 20/15. I have not had any dry eyes or any other side effects. It's wonderful being able to wake up in the morning and not have to grab for my glasses before I can start my day. The whole experience was just great. Dr. Ashraf is super nice and explained the procedure and recovery in detail. The office staff is very helpful too. I was a little scared to try LASIK, but I'm so glad I did!

If you're reading this review, you probably did the same thing I did before I got LASIK-reviewing the establishments around Atlanta. I did the same research and decided on the Atlanta Vision Institute as my most trusted choice. Dr. Farooq Ashraf seemed extremely qualified to me. Upon arriving to my consultation, I realized I was right. I felt very at ease and no one at any time during the process tried to sell me on LASIK. They discussed the risks, procedure, and pointed out that I could stick with glasses or contacts. However, like most, I've had many friends who raved about LASIK. I am now one of those people. I am two weeks out from my surgery and I have the best vision I've ever experienced. Again, if you're like me, you're wondering a few things. How qualified is the doctor and establishment? My review is that you will feel completely confident in them the entire time and it is obvious that the staff is experienced. The other thing I was wondering was about the pain and recovery time. I wasn't looking forward to someone working on my eye was I watched them. The only pain I felt was that of a pinprick and it was over just as fast. I also was pleased that when they hold your eye in place, it blacks out and you don't have to go through the unpleasantness of seeing the flap cut in your eye. The whole thing lasted about 5 minutes and was extremely easy. Overall, I could not be happier with the entire process and with the AVI.
