Balboa Park not only hosts the zoo and great recreation but a ton of activities, restaurants, gardens and museums all tied up in a mile by mile size of land. Alot of great events are hosted here that many should check out. December nights is one of the prettiest events this Park hosts. Balboa Park also has great San Diego history as well. The Casa del Prada building dates back to the 1915 Panama-California Exposition and is now home to many museums, attractions and restraurants. The park also has many pockets of parking , but be prepared to walk this great park. Certainly a must see spot for anyone, locals or toursists alike.

My son loves walking around the park, and we don't even go inside a single museum. We watch the fountain, walk down the butterfly garden path, chase each other down the arched aisleways and in the grass. The only thing we pay for is a ride on the carousel and for a sno cone.

Best deal in town! Each Tuesday different museums throughout the park offer free admission. I recomend the Mingei Arts $ Crafts Museum. The sculpture garden cafe near the Old Globe offers delicious lunches in a fabulous setting.

Balboa Park is filled with numerous art museums, beautiful parks, and live events. The art museums are interesting to look at, and a lot of them are free to go in. The parks are beautiful here with ample amount of trees and is a great place to hold a BBQ. A must go to if your visiting San Diego.

I had not been to Balboa Park for many years, because of the issues with undesireables taking over the park and my worries about safety. Last summer I spent a month working in the Park and was simply amazed how nice the park is and why I hadn't been back in so long.

I love Balboa Park; from the rose garden to all the museums! Balboa Park has something for everyone. I like just going down there to walk around. They have a Junior Theatre down there that puts on plays for a pretty good deal. The Old Globe is also down there for professional plays. You cannot miss Balboa Park.

Balboa is a great place to enjoy the history of san diego. Learn a little about the history of balboa park itself before going and you'll find a rich history of interesting events such as when the military took possession of it in order to set up camp after the pearl harbor attack. It's great for a day date.
