UPDATE: I received a call from the corporate offices today at Ballard Designs and they kindly offered to send me a replacement component so that I may utilize my home office desk until the NEW piece arrives in August! I am very pleased at their prompt response to my letter and willingness to go out of their way to please this customer. I congratulate them on their immediate action to what could have been a horribly dismayed customer. Thank you Ballard Designs!

I purchased two lighted topiaries from this location, spending almost $400. They have turned out to be a complete waste of money and an embarrassment at that. I frequently come home to find them rolling around on my front porch or off the porch entirely and lying in my yard. They are top heavy and are poorly designed, having been made without sufficient weight at the bottom, so even the slightest wind blows them over... even under a sheltered porch. I have called Ballard Designs speaking twice with the Customer Service manager, who wasn't even aware of their own poor rating with the BBB. She has refused to allow me to return them for a refund or store credit. I have tried to go up the chain of command to solve this issue and no one will even return my calls. I've left 4 polite messages on the voice mail of the supervisor for Customer Service/Public Relations and she has never returned even one call. I have left 3 polite messages on the voice mail of the President/CEO...he hasn't returned one call. I checked the BBB and as of this writing, they have an unsatisfactory record, with 14 complaints filed in the last 36 months...mine will be number 15. This is a poorly run company that obviously doesn't value its customers. All they want is your money and do not care if their products even function as they are intended and advertised. Stay away from this uncaring and unethical business!
