First of all to all the people reading these reviews remember most people only do reviews when they are mad and that being said here is what I got to say. I have been to mutipul banfields/ vet clinics and was never treated the way I thought a vet should treat there patient and owners. Most were rude hard and callus till I went seeking help for my dog who was literally eating his self to-death at the Newnan banfield. I had called humane societies and done all I could do and this banfield was my last hope before letting him go to heaven due to he was sick I had lost my job, my house and sold all I had just to keep a roof over our heads and food. I was not mentally or physically stable and nether was my poor dog but thanks to Dr.Wrighten we are doing great! They worked with us the best they could with the money I could get and now my dog is doing awesome. We still have to go to the vet often but they are always good to us and love my pets.

Two days ago we brought our dog into Banfield (in Smyrna on Cobb Pkwy) to get checked out for severe back pain. After hours of medical attention (physical check-up, x-rays, blood test, etc.) We were told he had some minor herniated disks and we were prescribed three types of medicine (none of which were pain killers). The Vet said keep him from moving too much and come back in ten days. After two days of following their instructions and sleepless nights from the dog crying out in agony, we rushed to Georgia Veterinary Specialists. Within an hour of getting checked in and examined, our dog had to have emergency surgery for intervertebral disk herniation. Luckily we went in when we did or our dog would have never walked again. Right now he is under anesthesia pending rehabilitation. I am seriously considering suing Banfield for malpractice. We used to take our dog to the Midtown Banfield off of Ponce de Leon, but switched to the store in Smyrna by our work due to all of the problems we experienced. The problems ranged anywhere from unorganized, under qualified staff, being overcharged, appts never kept, extremely long waiting times, and mis-diagnosis. We thought it was just the midtown location, but apparently this happens at Banfields all over.

My dog was supposed to be treated for a dog bite, and instead ended up having to go to a pet emergency room to have the gaping wound that Banfield created stitched back up. Come to find out, all he needed was some antibiotics and could have forgone the surgery. I have since canceled the Wellness Programs on all my animals and will gladly fight them in court when they come after me for non-payment.

I used Banfield in Midtown for my siamese rescue and all I can say is that it is one huge waste!! I paid $28 a month for the wellness plan......then each time the cat would need to be seen they would charge outrageous amounts for the meds as well as the visit. It was not unheard of to pay 200-300 more for something such as an upper respitory infection. That is outrageous!!! Then for the "comprehensive" check ups I was told to drop my cat off at the vet's early in the morning (8am) and he would stay there until at least 6pm!!! WHY?????? HOW COME I CAN'T STAY WITH MY CAT WHILE HE IS SEEN BY THE VET???? These all day stays scared my cat as he was cooped up in a cage ALL DAY, and it was busy and noisy and he was frightened all day long. I AM NOW CONVINCED MY CAT WAS *NEVER* SEEN BY A VET AT ALL DURING THESE "COMPREHENSIVE" CHECKS........ When my contract was up at Banfield I never returned.....and in fact called the head office in Portland or Seattle and told them I was VERY disappointed in their services and that it is just a MONEY MAKING OPERATION and that they could give a crap about the animals they treat, and how I felt that the vet tech's were seeing my cat and NOT the vet. DO THE RIGHT THING AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! THESE MONTHLY WELLNESS CONTRACTS ARE A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!!! TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS LEARNED HER LESSON!!!

I took my 8 month old puppy to them to be spayed and they cut through her spleen and she died. There was a lot of neglegence on their part and my baby should not have died. The Dr. that did her surgery was a fill in Dr. for that day, which no one bother to tell me that. I would have never left her with a Dr. that I did not know. Apparently the Dr. was not quailfied due to in her own report she stated that when she cut the spleen it leaked out into her body but she stitched it up the best she could, and finished the spay. After she finished she noted that she was still oozing when she closed her up. She also noted that there was no gelfom or surgicel was available to clean her oozing, but later after she died she found the gelforan and surgicel The Dr. that did the surgery has never called me or said anything, she left it all up to the Original Dr. to call and tell me. This may not be a big deal to some of you but she was my babygirl and I just don't want this to happen to anyone else. We had a autopsy report done confirming that the cause of death was from the cut of her spleen and the leakage into her body.
