Granted, it was a Friday evening, but there did not appear to be a soul working at this B&N...except @ the Starbucks. I needed info on a Nook but there was no one to ask. Needed to find summer reading, not a soul to be found. After several uncomfortable minutes waiting alone @ customer service, someone appeared. Only to tell me, gee...they didn't have those books. ??? The school is less than 5 miles from your store & no one thought stocking the reading lists might be a good idea? And then she told me the majority of the books weren't available on Nook. FINE. I had to suggest she look to see if another B&N had the books, which they did. But she couldn't give me directions to that store. "I'm from Kennesaw." HUH? About this time, the boys reappeared w/other books in hand. So off we go to the cashier. After patiently standing in line & letting others w/quick purchases ahead of us, another customer snaked in the exit of the cashier line...and the cashier started a chat w/her. We just left. I hauled the children to another B&N, bought the minimum & am back to my first love...Amazon.com.

I bought a book from here and got half-way through it only to find that a page had been neatly torn out of the center. When I called the store about it, they were just like "Oh, well we'll take it back, but we don't have anymore copies of that book in stock." They didn't try to find it anywhere else and they only offered my a store credit for the return, even though I had a receipt. I don't know what was up with that, maybe I got a new person. Whatever the case, that experience soured me on this store. I will not return.

I've been visiting this B&N for years [along with the one on Barrett Parkway], and have always found it to be clean, tidy, and comfortable. Larger than many, its selection is quite good, and the staff if helpful and polite. The cafe is a definite advantage, as customers can get a coffee and peruse their book selections in comfort before purchasing. This actually makes book-buying more pleasant, as I find getting a chance to sample some of the writing helps me select books I like better, rather than getting home with a book to find it a disappointing read. All in all, a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere to indulge in whatever reading you enjoy.
