This company uses bait and switch practices - AVOID! They showed my daughter one apartment and said it was identical to the one she would rent - brand new, gleaming hardwood floors vs. splintered, stained, OLD hardwood | view of quiet tree-lined street vs. view of brick wall | strong flowing hot water vs. hot water trickle + dripping, stained shower, running toilet + clogged drains. No requested repairs were completed. Daughter's doctor recommended she move for health reasons and Apartments Management Group asked for a letter from doctor, saying they will "see what they can do" about helping with the EXORBITANT cost of lease buyout for a DUMP they lied to her about. STILL they did nothing except TAKE OUR MONEY. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!!!!! Do NOT rent from this management group. I live at the Fremont Apartments and they are refusing to let me out of my lease or do anything when my apartment is covered in black "dust" from the heaters and they are refusing to do anything about it. They are trying to say its from candles when my entire apartment is covered with black and inside the heaters is completely burnt black. It took me over a week just to get someone to come and do anything about it. I have to repeatedly call the property manager and she NEVER returns my call and usually you can hear screaming kids in the background of her calls so she clearly isn't in an office. The water is cloudy and disgusting, and the price is outrageous for the horrible conditions of their building. I've been forced to call the Chicago Health Department since they are not doing anything and I am now SICK from living in this apartment. They have a complete disregard for their tenants and only care about the money. DEFINITELY not worth the money and i would NEVER recommend these apartments or this management company to ANYONE! BEWARE!!!

I can't get an apartment because of their incompetence and nobody will call me back. I have called their office half a dozen times with no useful response from anybody; All I want is a bill, since they made no effort to collect money from me before sending me to collections despite a forwarding mailing address and phone number provided. I've recently left 2 messages with staff and on VM with no contact attempt made. My water was orange, the washing machines were spraying water into the electrical outlets they were plugged in to; I lived temporarily in someone elses dirty mess (I'm talking bags of dirty gym clothes, 2 month old milk in the fridge, pizza left in the oven, 9 months of cat hair ground into the floor) for a month and a half because they couldn't be bothered to clean out the apartment I was going to be living in for the duration. I got stuck in the elevator three times in the months I lived there. The freight elevator, which I specifically asked about before I moved in, (yes, we have one, it's right there) had been out of service since well before I moved in, making moving in very difficult (I had to throw away a couch. Obviously they have lost business because of the broken elevator so they had to lie about it; I wouldn't have moved in if it was busted). During the winter, the only way to keep the apartment above 50 degrees was to run my oven 24/7. For 2 weeks they lost my 1600 dollar first 2 months rent payment. Only about half of the light fixtures worked.

I have lived in the city for 20 years and never dealt with a management company this bad. They will not fix anything, they constantly put you off to the 'building manager' who is a joke. It is a great big waste of your money. Do NOT do it.

I have lived in a unit for 6 months now that is plagued with repair problems. The A/C has not worked since we moved in, there is black mold in the vents which I had to clean myself, the water sometimes comes out orange, and our kitchen sink is leaking and corroded. This place is a joke. Don't rent from them. There is a reason the price is low.

They also do business at Broadway Building I. LLC. Absolutely worst landlords I've ever had. They don't fix anything and will leave you in the lurch in a plumbing emergency. People on the phone at 2320 N. Damen office are very hateful to talk to. A total nightmare experience.

Bunch of crooks. They raise rent and fix nothing in return! What is fixed, breaks again as the quality of service and items is minimal at best. My rent has gone up $105 a month in just two years, yet my windows leak air, my kitchen floor is worn through, cabinets are water damaged and stove is cracked and rusted. Tenants are not quality anymore. Grade: F

If you have to send your rent check to 232o N Damen - run! I have lived in my current apartment on Wellington and Racine for less than a year and I have had nothing but problems. The ceiling has been patched; well that's what they call it. It's more like the cracks get sanded then repainted and then reform in 2 months. There is mold all over my apartment. And the tuck pointing is terrible. So not only are the ceilings cracking and bubbling all around me but also the exterior walls are turning yellow. Instead of fixing anything it just gets paint, or in some cases they skip the paint and just put spackle over it. And don't even bother telling this to the office - they don't care and they will not return your calls. After having every respiratory problem (never have had any before in my life) I begged them to have someone come in and actually test for mold. The management refused. Also during one of the "repairs", they wanted me to leave for three days, they spilt paint on my couch and on a pair of expensive shoes that weren't even near the area being "fixed", and when I returned home I had to spend the rest of the day scrubbing muddy boot prints off the floors. And the office refused to clean the couch or the shoes, it was just my loss. I then had to spend the rest of All I can say is I am happy to be moving.
