I asked my mom to take my two dogs to the vet today, 2/23/16, as I have not been able to take them myself as I have been working later than our normal vet is open, so she took them where she takes her dog, which is Beltway Animal Hospital (BAH). She called me to let me know that Dr. Burns refused to see my dogs because of a check that I owed from 2008, my attitude from a prior visit, and something about the internet. Since my mom tends to lose information with the translation, I called the office myself as news about a check being owed was news to me. I was informed that indeed, Dr. Burns would not see our dogs and we were no longer welcome. They stated that the check being owed had been resolved, so that was not the problem. The problem was because of an incident that happened in 2010 (apparently I myself had an attitude regarding it since I did not physically go to the business) and then posted a bad review on Yahoo regarding the incident. Since I am only allowed 100 characters here, the details from the 2010 incident are attached asa a photo. You must ask why go back today then? I honestly thought BAH had changed their ways and was willing to give a small business owner a second chance. To be honest, this could have easily been an opportunity to redeem themselves. Granted, many continue to take their beloved pets to BAH because of the low cost, but like I said in my 2010 review, my hard earned money seems more appreciated elsewhere.

Our first vsit to Dr. Burns was in 1983 when she became "our" vet. I have no idea how many times she has saved one of our pets or how many pets we have taken to her. She cares for the animals she treats if an animal has been mistreated or not taken care of properly she will let you know. The staff is always friendly and courteous.

I did a series of dump things which resulted in our Border Collie being drug down the road, receiving serious gravel burns down his entire side as well as burning the pads of his feet. Emergency clinic wanted me to take him to A&M for skin grafts for $2-3,000 minimum. He looked so bad that my husband didn't think he would ever be the same and that we should put him down. Dr. Burns kept Snoopy for 3 weeks at 1/3 the cost and he is doing just fine! He's back to chasing the sheep, cows and cats. We now take all 4 of our dogs to Dr. Burns and would not consider using another vet. I don't know how to attach photos but Dr. Burns would be glad to show you (providing you have a strong stomach).

Several years ago I had an older puddle who was suffering from diabetes. At the time, I lived just north of New Orleans, LA, and drive heavy trucks for a living. One-week day my puddle collapsed, without thinking twice, I the drove three hundred plus miles to Dr. Burns' office. When I made it to her office, Dr. Burns and her staff stabilized my puddle's blood sugars and saved his life. In all my years of knowing Dr. Burns and her staff, I would still drive those three hundred plus miles every time before taking my pets anywhere else. She never once deluded the facts surrounding my pet's health, she always told me up front what to expect and what could happen. That also included the cost of my pet's treatments, which was far less than any other vet would have been, in LA or TX. That was sixteen ago, today I still drive from around the country to make it to Dr. Burns office because she is just that GOOD!!!

After loosing our veterinarian of 32 years due to retirement I tried several veterinarians in our area, only to find out that they were mainly interested in how much they could charge for their services and did not have my pets best interest at heart. Dr Burns was recommended to me by a friend who raves about her ,her clinic and staff. I had to drive an hour and forty-five minutes plus to get to her clinic. This time was so well spent for the care my pet received. I did not have to wait endelessly up front with a sick pet as I have had to do before. Dr. Burns greeted me kindly and immediately diagnosed my pet problem, She is so compasionate and thorough in all treatment of the four legged kids. Dr. Burns also offers you a wealth of information and tips on how to improve your pets well being. Her staff is freindly, kind , knowledgeable and compasionate as well. Thr prices at the clinic are so very fair and they do all they can to heal your pet reasonably. In my opinion Dr Burns is the creme de la creme of veterinarians and an undiscovered jewl to me until now. I will never go anywhere else and will drive to the ends of the earth to have my pets taken care of by she and her staff.

Last time I was in at the vet a lady like the one who posted the negative comment was in, complaining about was her "visit going to cost her anything?" and that she "had no money with her." Personally as a college student I wouldn't have been as graceful as the staff was with this lady if someone stiffed a bill after I had worked to take care of someones sick dog or cat. Considering I was next in line after this lady I was expecting the visit to be a little tense, but the complete opposite was true. Dr. Burns and her staff where some of the kindest people I could have ever asked for. Thoughtful, considerate and reasonably price, even after that scene a few minutes before. Personally I can see how anyone in their right mind can show up to a business and not expect to pay for the stuff they get from that business. You don't go to a restaurant and skip out on the tab. So why people like that women expect stuff to be for free is beyond me. Overall, I would highly recommend BAH to anyone who wants a vet how actually cares as much about your pets as you do as an owner.

I have been using this vet for ten years. She has always been rude and a bit scary to be honest. I have continued to go there due to convenience. Yesterday I came home to my dog bleeding very badly from his rectum, so I rushed him to the vet. When she started the IV on him to rehydrate him, I asked her how long it would take, because I needed to get some cash, which I thought would be fine since I have been going there so long, I have even taken rescue dogs to her and paid for there treatment. They only take cash and check there. She yelled at me for not having cash, accused me of not paying before, which is very untrue, I have never been in there without payment ever. Made the assistant stop all treatment until I came back with cash, wanted my cell phone as collateral while I ran to the store and made me take my sick bleeding dog with me. I have never been so humiliated in my whole life. Here I am crying and emotional worried about my dog and she is actually yelling at me.I asked for all my dogs records, and told them I would never go there again. The staff has always been nice and they apologized. And well I took my dog to the vet in Crosby today for follow up and the visit was actually twenty dollars cheaper. And everyone was friendly.

They are caring, loving animal lovers. They also take in stray animals to try and find a home for them. We took two baby kitties that one of the employees had taken home so she and her mother could bottle-feed them - that's a good employee and a great employer. We've taken a total of three kittie cats from them and if the need arises, we'll take more as well! Thank you!
