Brought my kitten here after a botched surgery elsewhere. The entire staff could not have been more caring or competent. I have nothing but the highest praise for Drs. Fenner and Abrams. Everyone treated both the kitty and the nervous owner with skill and kindness. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. What you get here is quality care.

I work at Bernardo Heights Veterinary Hospital and have for over 20 years and was dumbfounded by Mom in Rb's review. If a receptionists or any member of our team is seen not acknowledging a client on entering the hospital they are counseled on proper customer service immediately. If it become apparent that the behavior is not a one time slip, they are let go. We feel our clients and patients are like family and I apologize to Mominrb for the first impression she received. Most of our clients and patients have been with us for many of the 21 years we have been in RB.

I have a new puppy that I would like a good vet for and I had met some of the staff of this vet at the local street fair booth. My son and I walked in and were never greeted by the person behind the desk. I thought they may be busy with the two people in the lobby so I waited patiently. The doctor came out to talk with one person and never acknowledge me or my son. That was okay. Then the lady behind the desk finally said (after 10 minutes) she will be with me in a minute. I was still patient until a lady come in the front door and the lady behind the counter said to her "Hi, can I help you?!!" I know it was rude because the two other people in the lobby turned and looked at me with a look of "unbelieveable!" on their faces. After she answered a dog food question for the lady, she still didn't offer to help me. I was nice, smiling and patient the entire time and they made me feel like I did something wrong by walking in their door. If they cannot properly assist a person walking in the door, how can they adequately take care of our family pet. So I walked out. Maybe they are a good vet, but I thought I should share my first experience with them.
