The Blue Mist Motel is a fairly decent place to stay if you happen to be in Florence. It looks pretty nice on the exterior, if you can forgive the slightly dated architecture. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive. There was always someone in the front office (or watching the front office) but aside from that, we rarely saw the staff (which is how I like it). When we did come in contact with them, they were very pleasant. Our first week (total of 3 weeks) staying at the Mist, several of the people in my group were upgraded to rooms with kitchenettes at no extra charge. We had apparently not reserved enough rooms, and were one short, but it was absolutely no hassle to get another room. The rooms have wireless internet access and cable. The cable is about normal for a hotel, though I was told they have HBO, which is not standard everywhere. The internet was extremely slow, and several people in my group said they could not get connected or see the network. For simply surfing the internet or paying bills, it would be sufficient, but watching streaming video, downloading/uploading content or playing online games just isn't gonna happen. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The air conditioner put out an odd smell, but this is not uncommon with some of the smaller hotels/motels I have stayed in. Overall, it is a decent place to stay.
