My child has been at Brookside on Alexander Drive for almost two years. He just started the 2 year old room and he loves it! Finding a day care where he would be loved and cared for was the most important goal we had. Brookside has that and much, much more. He is learning beyond our expectations. We love that before he was two, he knew all his colors, his numbers (1-10), and his alphabet. Most importantly though, he has really learned how to be a good friend, how to communicate his wants and needs, and now he is working on POTTY TRAINING! He has been in 3 different rooms and loved every teacher he has had. He has friends that he has been with since he was 5 months old. We are so blessed! I don't authority to post pictures of these happy children and teachers but check them out on their new facebook page. Brookside at Old Milton.

My son has been going here for almost two years, and we absolutely love it. We are always greeted with smiles, the teachers are loving and encouraging, and he is always happy and going on and on about what he did all day when I pick him up. The teachers here go above and beyond to make sure each child is learning and succeeding. The extras like music class, Spanish, Playball, and parents' night out are big positives also!

We've been very happy at Brookside with both of our children enrolled for the past 2 years. They don't have a lot of staff turnover which we had at our other school. We also really like the Saturday night babysitting they offer! I suspect those really nasty postings came from a disgruntled employee, something we've had happen too at our family owned restaurant.

I am honestly very surprised at some of the recent reviews on this site and disagree with much of the negative comments. We enrolled at Brookside and are very happy. Our child entered class unable to write letters, and within two weeks was able to write words. The teacher works to create a curriculum for each student based on their individual level. She is amazing! The older kids follow a regular school schedule which prepares them for elementary school. If there ever is an incident, the staff will call us immediately. In addition the Brookside staff are approachable and the owner is hands on. She has been responsive whenever we have spoken to her, as have all of the staff. Most importantly the children at this school are loved and well cared for and have fun.

Whatever you do... DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD HERE! Expect to not only pay tuition but also be prepared for a new sign up sheet on the door every other week!! Parents are required to bring EVERYTHING!! What does tuition pay for? Not the lunch! At least once a week when I pick up there is a delivery of CANNED AND FROZEN FOOD!!! (SO MUCH FOR THE NUTRITIOUS MEALS THE MANAGEMENT LIES ABOUT!) I can not wait until this school year is over so I can leave this fraudulent place! The only thing keeping me here is my child's teacher! She is really sweet but is often over ratio! Parents BEWARE! You will be sold a dream when you tour here!

I recently did a tour of this location on alex. dr. One word describes it... DUMP!! The floors were filthy! Even in the infant room where poor babies have to crawl around and put things in their mouth's. The walls have filthy carpet looking material on them. How gross! I don't even want to think about what's on them! I can't believe they even had the nerve to show me this place! Why is it open? Please don't send your child here if you love them.

I toured the school & naively enrolled my daughter based on the glitzy marketing packet, the seemingly warmness of the staff, yet neglected to read reviews of the place prior to enrollment. It became apparent that the student/teacher ratios we were "sold" on were rarely adhered to. For a period of more than 6 weeks the classroom operated at a ratio higher than what was promised. When we brough this up to the Owner, we were brushed off & told that they make every effort to adhere to their ratios. Only 3 weeks after our conversation did they hire someone to address this issue. The toys in the infant classroom had no batteries & were thus not fully functional. When we brought this up to the director she told us that she "would simply add it to the list". Weeks later there were still no batteries in the toys. The final issue, however, was when I picked her up one day & the teacher was busying herself cleaning countertops while my daughter was in the swing crying hysterically. I went in to pick her up & she was covered in feces from the back of her neck down to her ankles, all of which had dried on her skin. The teacher (Jane) apologized & claimed that my daughter had been sleeping & didn't want to wake her, despite what I saw when I entered the room. When I brought this up to Mindy (Owner), we were told that it sounded like the best thing for us to do was to find another day care. We wish we had it all to do over again. Please, please read the reviews for committing.

At Brookside Academy, the policy for biting is that no action will be taken unless a child bites 3 times within a day. Meaning you can bite twice a day everyday and nothing gets done about it. My child was bitten twice within days by a classmate who bit other children numerous time before and they are sticking to their policy. Owner's comment was " what do you want me to do spank him? that is a normal behavior for a two year old" Really? no discilpinary at all?? what parent would trust their kid in that school? Do something for god sake, Idiots. That kid should've been sent home after 2nd time. At least my child is at a safer place now. Horrible experience.....

When looking for a preschool for my children, it was very important to me that I find a school where the Owner is involved and takes an interest in her school. I've been to several places that are considered franchises or chains and it is very obvious that you are paying for the "name" and not the high quality of care. The Owner of Brookside knows all three of my children by name and is constantly at the school and in the classrooms. You can tell she truly loves what she does. I would never have my children anywhere else.

I have been with Brookside for over three years!! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else, the children are happy, the staff is always willing to help and the owner is always willing to listen if there are any problems. The Pre-K students are very active in the community and even mailed letters to Santa and went to local businesses to sing holiday carols!! Love it!!

My child started off happy and excited, but her attitude did a 180 in only a few short weeks. She would wake up crying "Please don't take me to school." The owner is greedy and only focused on the money. She was rarely at this location, but claimed to know how my children were doing. "Funny" thing is she didn't know my kid's name. Horrible experience!

Mean and greedy owner. the teachers are not professional and not friendly. My kid's teacher was mean and not child-loving person at all. My boy hated to go to the class after attending for a while. They just follow the rules, but don't care of kids with love. Teachers are staying there just to earn money, not enjoying their time with kids. The communication to parents terribly sucks.

Our two children have been at Brookside for over a year now and the teaching staff has been steady and the management always welcome and helpful. It's a great place for children.

We have enrolled our son here and the teacher/child ratio is outstanding and they follow an extensive curriculum. They are truly focused on children of all ages.
