In February my spring broke. I had it replaced by the company that installed the door since it was a custom door. That's when the trouble began. Door began randomly not closing. Light blinked like sensors were out of alignment or blocked. I had no problems with the door closing prior to the spring being replaced. I called and stayed home all day until technician came. Couldn't find a problem. Said it was probably the sun even though that had never been an issue before. So I got sun sensors and had them put on. Happened again. They came out again. I got a lecture about installing things myself. He adjusted the sensors. Happened again. So, I did some research and found CSS. Called and talked to Paul. He gave me a number of reasons why this could be happening. Made an appointment. Tech came on time and spent a good bit of time assessing the situation. While he couldn't find a specific reason for the problem, he said some of the wire connections looked iffy and replaced those. He then serviced the door. I have had zero problems since. It was well worth the money I had to pay to get my door fixed. I highly recommend them.

After living in my townhome for seven years, I thought it was time to have some maintenance done - replace rollers, tighten things up, etc. Following my service, I was having a minor issue and Paul was able to come out the next day and take care of it. CSS will be my go-to for any issues I have with garage door/opener!

I am extremely pleased with my new garage door! I've had it for about 3 months now. It was installed in almost half the time projected. No hidden costs and no pressure to get add-ons. But I do recommend getting the insulation - it keeps my garage at least 55 degrees in the winter and makes it quieter inside. I'd definitely use them again.

Came out 11/13/12 to assess damage. Said that we could not use the deal on Kudzu for repairs as it was only usable for a two door garage system (something NOT in the small print that I was sure to read prior to even calling them). The deal offered a garage door repair for $99. During our discussions, the man was condescending and down right rude at times talking over me and my husband as I tried to explain what happened and my concerns. It did not leave a good impression. He ASSURED us it could be fixed and that we did not need to buy a new door. So we paid $189 to get it repaired. On 2/12/13 (NOT EVEN THREE MONTHS LATER) I came home to an open garage door and possible break in as the door did not close on my departure. The door would not close or open so I called them back. The same man came back the next day. He "reinforced" brackets drilling and adding screws into places where he self admitted they were not intended to be and that was a BIG mistake. There was obviously new torque happening on the cables and wheels that had NOT been there before. When we asked him about the difference in sound and appearance, we were given a shoulder shrug. TWO WEEKS LATER it broke again, view pics for details. We will NEVER recommend them or use them again!

I can address these comments directly as I was the tech on site. We stand behind the work and the tone of communication we used. All I ask is that you read this review in the context of the hundreds of overwhelmingly positive comments our customers have left at Kudzu and other reputable review sites.
The voucher was for a tune up with an option for a new door credit and was not purchased. It was not for any repair and the fine print states 2 car garage min. for replacement. I tried to clarify the details and the response was extremely argumentative. I suggested we look at the deal together to get on the same page. When I did not give in to her demands she started screaming at me. This is a bad situation to be put in, but we do not talk down to our customers or get in shouting matches with them. I told her I would have to leave.
She persuaded me to talk to her husband. I was a little flustered, but went over the deal and recommended they replace the door due to the damaged sections and the condition of the hardware. He wanted me to brace the door to try and get a little more life out of it. I used reliable light weight bracing techniques that give the top section more strength than when its made. This does not guarantee it will hold to additional stress doors are not designed to be operated under.
Later I was called back because their door did not shut properly. This problem was not caused by the braces, but because of the condition of the hardware which was discussed before the repairs were made. Their was no burglary attempt, and it is every homeowners responsibility to make sure your doors are secure before you leave the house.
The door was getting noisier from the worn hardware which causes extra drag. The door was jamming because the pulleys were so worn out the door would lurch and shift hard. Once again I recommended they either replace the door or hardware. I did explain the bracket the door was initially installed with was designed for a different door. She may have thought I was referring to the braces I installed.
I made some minor adjustments, but they insisted I fix all the problems that were unrelated to our scope of work for free. As I was leaving she asked me about the additional noise and I told her that I had explained the problems multiple times and there was nothing else I could do unless she wanted to pay me for the additional work needed. I felt harassed and there may have been a little shrugging of the shoulders at this point.
Later the door jammed hard. The pictures show this damage similar to a door being operated while locked. You can see we used a strong operator bracket and cross brace to strengthen the door. They requested a minimal repair to get operational and were told they had other issues that could cause problems.
