Marlee came to our home to help us work with our energetic 5 year old boxer mix who we just adopted from PAWS. I was referred to Canine PhD from PAWS, as a trainer from this group had worked with our dog at the shelter in the past. Marlee was excellent. The hour and a half that she worked with my husband and I and Maggie our dog (and with our second dog and also our 3 cats!) was well worth the cost of the session. We had scheduled the home visit to get help assessing Maggie for safety with our cats and Marlee did assess her and also gave us a lot of support and guidance around working with adjusting our new pup to the cats, helping our new dog and old dog get to know one another, and familiarized us with basic training concepts that we have been using in the week since the visit. I cannot say enough good things about Marlee. She was very professional and knowledgable and a wonderful teacher. She is warm and personable and encouraging. We enjoyed working with her and our dog(s) engaged with her easily. Some of what we learned was from what she showed us and we also learned by imitating her calm and happy way of interacting with the dogs. We plan to have Marlee return for follow up visits. Today, we are beginning a 6 week "Manners" class at Canine PhD with our new dog!

When I came to Canine PhD I was in a state of desperation & depair. I feared my 2 yr old shepherd mix, Steve, was agressive and could hurt someone. I was afraid he would have to isolated for the rest of his life. You see, 4 months prior, I had taken Steve to another local trainer who uses flooding & positive punishment as her training method, much like the popular TV show on Animal Planet. Steve completed the 2 wk "boot camp" and I followed the home training instructions. However in 2 months time he escalated from growling to biting. I knew I needed to find something different when she recommended a shock collar! On my first meeting with Meredith I felt reieved & hopeful. Within only 4 private sessions my relationship with my dog had taken a 180 degree turn - he learned to trust me again. I learned how to identify & manage his stressors and obtain desireable behaviors with positive methods. And the results have been wonderful. We have since completed 3 group classes with lots of improvement and many successes. I am no longer afraid for Steve's (and my) quality of life. I continue to grow & learn as the owner of a reactive dog with Canine PhD's guidance. Working with a reactive dog can be a long haul but it's SO worth it. I can't thank Meredith enough for helping me come "back from the edge". Meredith & Canine PhD are top notch professionals. Their dedication to dogs is inspiring. They truly have been lifesavers. The right choice!

We rescued a terrier mix and he had separation distress and well as other issues. With in a few private sessions, he made huge strides working with Meredith. With the recommendation of a calming collar and a supplement, we have a very obedient and lovable dog. Her positive methods in training cannot be beat. You cannot go wrong using Meredith to train your dog. I highly recommnend her.

Meredith loves dogs but does not let them get ahead of the pack! She is gentle but firm with the dogs and owners. She is genuine. I have seen the change in the dogs that are in the class, especially Evan who is a shelter dog at Paws Atlanta. You can't go wrong by choosing her for you and your dog to have a wonderful relationship!

Canine PhD is the 3rd dog trainer I have hired in the Atlanta area and by far the best. What I really love about Meredith and her team is their positive approach. Also, seems the solutions are custom fit for our needs. The training is repeatable for us at home and most important - it's working!

The service was above average thanks to the support of two dog trainers. However, the dog trainers would contradict each other "opinion" on the best methods. It made for confusing and weak instruction for pet owners. We received continued negative feedback about our dogs performance and told that we needed several additional classes & private lessons because our dog had "special needs" ($$$$$$!) I felt the owner knew less about dog training than her trainers did which was frustrating since she was the ring leader. Overall, we've been to other dog trainers and felt they were more passionate about our dogs performance and less interested in figuring out a way to collect as much money as possible. I don't mind shelling out dough for my dog but I'm only going to do it if I see the potential that it's going to be WELL worth it. I didn't feel like Canine PhD offered that value. I knew it from the first meeting and only continued to confirm my belief with each consecutive class.

Meredith helps you understand and communicate with your dog. Our miniature poodle is a joy and a challenge. Living out in the country, we do not get many people or much traffic around, and when someone came in the house or there was a new dog outside, he would go ballistic if not properly introduced. The classes have helped him socialize with other dogs and with other people. Meredith showed us how to recognize what his movements and gestures mean, how to set up conditioning exercises to tone down some of his behavior, and how to anticipate and control situations where he may become reactive. Meredith has guided us in several approaches to help us and our dog, and her knowledge and skill in all of these areas are impressive. She is outstanding and highly recommended.

Both of our dogs immediately loved Meredith and it's easy to see why: she has a natural connection with dogs and notices the little details in their behavior. Equally important, she is just as patient with the owners as the dogs themselves and we quickly learned a lot of better ways to handle numerous different situations/issues. She is prompt and responsive and definately goes the extra mile when help is needed. Thanks Meredith!

I was the proud owner of 4 rescue dogs when someone dumped 2 elderly females in our neighborhood. Could not find the owners so we kept them and they were tempermental to say the least. We got Meredith's name and she came to the rescue. She got them integrated with our other dogs and now our dog sitter, family and friends. She is patient with them and us and she never got discouraged, even when we did. She is on time and reasonably priced and fun! We are one big smelly, happy family because of her. Heather C

Meredith is: On time, every time. Fairly priced and worth every dime! Knowledgeable, insightful, and patient. Caring to both people and pets; she really took the time to get to know my family. Is highly capable and very willing to help! I highly recommend Canine Ph.D to any family who desires a better behaved dog.
