So, first the positive. He managed to properly operate one of those $5 outlet testers, filled out the inspection booklet you can get online, and wasn't a huge jerk. However, he overlooked several obvious things. On a photo *he took* through the access hole into the attic (he just stuck his hand through with a camera), light was visible through the roof by the chimney. We caught that before the sale in the photo and mentioned it; he hadn't noticed it. The old fuse box had been replaced by a new breaker box, but the old fuse box was gutted and used as a junction box - which is super-illegal. Two out buildings were wired with direct-burial wire which didn't enter or exit either the house or buildings through conduit; just bare wire. He didn't notice the asbestos-covered doors in the basement. He missed the illegal septic system. The list goes on. Nice guy, but I would not recommend anyone pay John for anything.

terrible! left with a house that was a HOT MESS!! "nothing major and a few things". The septic was leaking fumes into the house, the foundation "repair" was faulty, electrical, plumbing, you name it and it was missed.
