I've been coming to this salon since 2001. Craig does my hair and Irina does my nails. They are both excellent. Josh at the front desk is funny and always helps me get the appointment time I want. I highly recommend Carter Barnes!

I come here to get my hair cut and sometimes a manicure and pedicure. Ray is excellent and very personable. Sometimes I don't get the best manicure, tough....and it is a bit expensive...but they treat you really well while you are there.

Van has been cutting and highlighting my hair for 6 years. The color always turns out amazing. People don't believe me when I tell them I'm not a natural blonde. The cuts are consistently good and technically perfect, even when I want to do something a little different to my long hair. Van really listens and that makes me feel comfortable. The salon is realxing and clean with a friendly support staff.

Carter Barnes @ Phipps is wonderful! The front desk is polite, efficient and quick to check clients out. They are friendly and upbeat. I like the feeling that people know me when I arrive. They pay great attention to detail. They have a wonderful selection of hair products including Kerastase, Rusk, Aveda, Qtica, Bare Escentuals, and many many more. Please check them out, they are great!

No nasty surprises, this salon delivers exactly what you want and expect from a high quality salon. All of the stylists were friendly and experienced. They listen to you and will try to give you what you ask for.
I decided to give Carter-Barnes a try due to the fact that I buy my shampoo, etc. there. (Kerastase products are the best for wavy hair that you want to straighten.) From the outward appearances, I expected to be blown away. However, the experience was nothing more than average. The cut was OK, but it wasn't enough to keep me going back. I ended up going back to Van Michael. (I left VM only because my colorist left and thought I would give another salon a try.)

Don't waste your time here. They are a huge store attempting to be a boutique. Thier only concern is keeping you as a regular. The cut I recieved was cheaper than the place I usually go to and I could see why. It almost had style but great clips would have done the same for $13. The color was great at first, but I'm blonde and the highlights that he used turned brassy becuase they were too light. He obviously doesn't know too much about chemistry and reactions. Which was proven when I asked where he went to school. He DIDN'T go to school. It was just something he picked during college to pay the bills. Not impressed.

Everyone here is great - starting with being greeted by name when you walk in. Irina is great for manicures and pedicures and Yang is terrific for hair. Prices for manicures are good, hair is expensive but worth it!
