We were in CEMAC for 5 months. It took me 3 months to figure out what was going on inside that dojo but once I figured it all out, it was all hell to get out after that. Most karate dojos have you sign a 1 year agreement with them. Beware of this tactic. They suck you in, you sign, you then realize what's happening inside the dojo but you can't leave. By the time your contract is up, your kid has progressed so far in their belt system that you are hesitant to leave and start all over. This is the gimmick that is played over and over again. Be cautious about where you place your kid. Don't get won over by the bling bling you see at CEMAC. Their dojo and karate style may be impressive. But their staff, politics, favoritism, hostility and lack or organization will eventually get to you. Parents of young girls should be especially careful. Ask around in the karate community and get a feel for what CEMAC stands for. Don't make the same mistake I made and allow yourself to get sucked in.
