I had a new furnace installed by Citywide. The first thing that happened was the flue pipe popped off of the furnace, filling the garage with carbon monoxide because the installer did not properly fit the flue pipe to the furnace. When I inspected my furnace more closely I noticed the rectangular to round sheet metal transistion that connected the furnace to the ducting was covered with duct tape that was applied very sloppily. When I removed this tape it became apparent that the installer just beat on the existing rectangular to round sheet metal transistion with a hammer to try an get it to fit to the furnace opening which just cracked and bent the transistion piece. Since no amount of hammering could make up for the 1 inch difference in size in one of the dimensions that was hidden behind the furnace, the installer just covered over the 1 inch gap with layers of duct tape.
