I got a dog there and was told she was in good health. When I took her for her free wellness check that was included she had a type of mange and 2 parisites. She also had stitches that were healing that looked as if they attempted to fix her twice! When I called the animal control shelter to complain and tell them their vet gave this dog a clean bill of health and now I'm paying over $300 at a vet they just told me I could bring the dog back (they'd put her down) or just deal with it. Never again with Cobb Animal Shelter.

I went to pick my new beagle up and, wow, it took forever. They only had one person working the front with a line backing out into the hallway. Other employees were standing behind the glass, just talking... and people had questions... and wanted to get their new dogs, etc... Every single big dog kennel was covered in pee or poo... I know they have to go... but EVERY ONE? Poor dogs... and the little kitties sleeping in their litter boxes was heart breaking... Never go there agian! And when I picked up my new pup 'as is' she was sick with Canine Flu and not spayed. What a bill! But totally worth the 40 bucks I spent there!

In May on a Sunday afternoon I went to the animal shelter to look at the dogs not really intending to get one because I already have a cat. A beautiful Chihuahua dog was being brought out to be put up for adoption. I was told that he was picked up as a stray and was so frightened they had to put a towel over his head to pick him up and kept him isolated for a week or more before he could be adopted. He got in my lap and didn't want to get down. I went back on Tues. and got him. He is 5 yrs old and someone had not had him "fixed" and both of his ears were notched. We have a cat named Miss Kitty and so we named him Marshall Dillon and call him Dillon. He needed some dog training classes which he is getting and is the joy of our lives. He loves attention and being near us and is learning to get along with Miss Kitty. Our thanks go out to the animal shelter for the great care he received and for the chance to give him a better life. I don't know who had him before but their loss is our gain. He gives us so much love and affection and we are really blessed to have him. Keep up the good work. I appreciate the fact that the adoption rules are strict and that you care where the animals go from there and that this little dog had a chance for a better life instead of ending up in a shallow grave or by the side of the road. God Bless all of you there.
