Costa Azul Coronado offers mixture of fresh Mexican and Californian cuisine. Located on Coronado Island near San Diego, the fun, casual atmosphere will make you feel like you are under a palapa on a secluded island, with the cool ocean breeze and the large outdoor patio.
The menu features classic Mexican food, fresh seafood, steak, burgers, salads and much more. We have a full bar with great margaritas, mojitos, cold beer, tequilas, and live entertainment and Happy Hour on certain.. nights.
We look forward to welcoming you to Costa Azul Coronado Grill & Cantina.
Ditto to the previous poster. The food is decent here (nothing to write home about), but the wait staff is unfriendly and does not offer anything but bare bones service. Makes one wonder why they are so unhappy. Don't expect more than someone to take your order, deliver the food and the bill. I go here when Miguel's has a wait and "have" to have Mexican.

I love everything about this place except the employees! The hostesses who do the seating are very surly and unaccomadating. Service is slow while you are waiting on them and rushed once they finally get to you. On the more positive side, the food is very good. More expensive average cost per dinner than a lot of restaurants. The coconut shrimp is amazing! Dine on the outdoor sidewalk area for great people watching and less noise from the inside.

My favorite item here is the coconut shrimp. Huge portions. Not cheap, but not expensive. If you choose to dine outside there is great people watching.

Cosa Azul in Coronado is not one of my favorite restaurants. The service was poor. It took us quite a while to get our food. The food wasn't as good as I expected it to be. I don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon.

Not a complainer, but this just had to be said! This was our first time ever visiting this restaurant. We are AMAZED that such horrible service coupled with less than mediocre food at high prices existed in Coronado. It's just out of the norm to find such a worthless place to eat on the island. We are locals (not tourists) and do not recommend this restaurant for the following reasons: 1. Hostess cleared more tables than seating patrons. We were given a dirty table right next to the waitstaff bus station. Nothing like trying to enjoy your meal while other people's potent table scraps are being scraped into a fly-infested bucket. 2. Chips and salsa were served. The hard chips were overly crusted with salt and the salsa was bad. 3. Our order was taken by another waiter after 20 minutes of assigned waitress that was missing in action, we were told our waitress was "too busy" to take our order (she was seen busing tables in the meantime). She did stop by to refill water glasses once. 4. Food was NOT as ordered and we sat for 40 minutes waiting for it (we were a party of 2 Adults/2 children). We seriously considered walking out at this point. We didn't tip because no one cares! 5. Waitress once again too busy to bring the check. Hostess was flagged down to find her, we gave our card to the hostess to pay. We politely complained to the hostess about our bad experience and she just said "oh, I'm sorry." No one cares!
