We love the Crescent Moon in Decatur! Although always very crowded and sure to have a decent wait, it is worth it if you have a leisurely morning to enjoy. Drew gets the taco heap, which he absolutely loves. I always get the original heap, which I adore! Both are just huge piles of potato, cheese, bacon, onions, and all sorts of goodies! We always have leftovers and are never disappointed. Someday we swear we're going to branch out and try something new, but we just can't resist our die-hard heap favorites! Service isn't so great, but with a place like this it doesn't really matter. We thoroughly enjoy its quirkiness every time!

I had heard there was some turmoil with the wait and cooking staff, but I still took a group today from out of town, hoping things had settled down. Nope. We were seated quickly but then waited an HOUR AND A HALF for our food. The wait staff was rude (not to mention questionably clean) and there was no offer of a discount to make up for our poor experience. There seemed to be no manager on duty. We ate our acceptable food quickly just to get out of there. My friends and I will never go back. This place needs to taken over by that "Kitchen Nightmares" show. Such a shame.

I used to LOVE the Crescent Moon, but after my experience on Labor Day was sadly disappointed. For starters, there was a FLY in the sugar container. Yep, buzzing happily along...how nasty! My egg & cheese biscuit arrived cold as a stone with lukewarm coffee to boot. Although there were many tables empty, I was told they only had a few wait staff working that day. Needless to say, an exceptionally LONG wait. Not worth it. Should've gone to "Awful House" and it would've been better.

If you asked me five years ago about Crescent Moon I would have given rave reviews. My last few experiences have been horrible and, sadly, I don't think I'll be back. The food is still good but the service is below average. One time I raised my hand to get the waiter's attention for more water and he got all in my face with a diatribe about that being his "pet peeve"; I got up and left. I decided to try them again and our coffee cups had food all over them... they had not been washed. I've been going since they were in the old location but I won't be going back.

This is a wonderful place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is very "diner" and the wait staff is very friendly. Three things to not pass-up at Crescent Moon: the ground chicken burger, the griddle grits and their most amazing biscuits. Delicious!

great breakfast... but also really great southern favorites like bbq pork and fried chicken. and sides... their mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes are top notch.

I recently changed jobs and am no longer close to The Crescent Moon. I had lunch there at least every other week. The staff was friendly and the food was always great. I have several favorites - Chicken Burger, Quesadillas, the HUGE baked potato, the chef salad... I could go on and on! Try it, you won't regret it!

Pretty original menu with Southern spin on the classic diner. Incredibly friendly staff and fair prices for such original cuisine. I really like the pimento cheese burger.
