Finding Dana to help us out with our remodel project was the best thing to happen to us and our home. He is very patient, honest, cares, and goes above and beyond. He is excellent at coordinating engineering, architects, inspectors, and contractors and making sure that we're satisfied. It also helps that he know everyone in the industry good and bad... I'll always go back to Dana for future work.

Dana Ansell is someone I trust for expert knowledge and excellent communication (like none other I've experienced). His honest up front approach is invaluable. He let me know exactly what the project extent would involve and how to get the job done right the first time. He took the time to educate me on the steps involved. He is a true real estate buyers ally and owner's dream contractor. Thanks Dana.

Laura, I appreciate your appreciation and kind words. I'm so grateful that I was able to coach you in a good decision that best served you and your husband in your future home purchase. Thank you, Dana
We purchased our first home last year and it turned out to be quite a nightmare. We were not only left with a multitude of problems, we were left not being able to trust anyone. We contacted Dana several months ago to help us troubleshoot our issues and we shortly learned that there still are honest people out there. Dana patiently listened to our problems over the phone and started to give us advice. After his initial visit, he provided an extremely detailed report of his findings highlighting everything he did during his inspection. Since then, he has worked diligently with us to resolve our issues. He promptly returns our calls & emails and we never feel that we are burdening him. His crew is polite and friendly and they finish their quality work on time and they don't leave a mess. Dana has proven to us that he is truly looking out for the best interest of his clients. We have already & will continue to highly recommend Dakini.

Patrick, Thank you for the time you took to write this review. Your project was quite a challenge to figure out and to Identify the exact causes of the below slab leak. I appreciated you and your wife's patience and grateful that with our mutual persistence, we were able to resolve the cause of the water problems below the slab. It's been a real pleasure working with you both. Dana
Dana went beyond the call of duty in advising me concerning my backyard hill which was pounded by recent heavy rains. This is the first home that I bought so I was naive as to advice and who to turn to. Dana was extremely patient in answering all of my questions. He gave me a lot of his time despite the fact he was very busy with other projects. I can't say enough how impressed I was with his honesty and integrity. It is very evident his combined superb professional knowledge and high ethical standards. He is definitely the best of the best.

Thank you for taking the time to place your kind referral on this site. It was a pleasure meeting you and being of service to you. Dana
I have been an electrician in the construction industry for 20 years. I have worked with many different contractors in that time, but none that I would recommend as highly as Dakini Engineering. Dakini Engineering begins with a foundation of excellent craftsmanship, honesty and integrity. Their commitment to quality and customer service is outstanding. The result is a beautiful job you can trust.

Jeff, Thank you very much for taking the time to writ this review. Your observations of our work and attention to detail is greatly appreciated. Dana
Dakini fixed a foundation drainage problem for me over a 3 week period ending 27 Mar 2009. The work was started and completed on time, with no disruption. The workers cleaned up their work area every day. The estimate was reasonable and the work was completed on budget. I would not hesitate to use Dakini again, nor would I hesitate to recommend them to others.

Thank you for your referral. It was an honor and pleasure to have worked for you. The water proofing of your below grade basement wall was some what a challenge, along with the failing water proofing system installed was a large piece of concrete dumped against the foundation by the orginal contractor that created a major source of the leakage you had been experiencing.
Again think you so much for your referral and appreciation of our work.
Dana and Bill
It was a pleasure to work with Dana Ansell who from the first inspired trust and confidence. He listened to our problem and then created a solution. The company performed as he directed and the whole crew were professional and thorough. I would recommend him without hesitation. Thanks Dana, PK

John, I appreciate your appreciation of our service and our well trained crews. Your below grade masonry basement wall was a challenge to excavate by hand (due to it's tight access) and perform a professional water proofing operation with a servicable French drain system. The recent rains should be a nice test for our custom system.
It has been a real pleasure meeting you.
May God bless you!
The job was leveling my house sinking in one corner. After the job was assessed an estimate was presented within a few days and the job was started in two weeks. The workmenship was stellar. The crew was great, very respectful and professional. I opted to have them use my bathroom instead of a portapotty. Flooring was protected and the premises left clean. They went above and beyond protecting my trees all work was done by hand no heavy equipment was brought in. The job was done well, on time and at a great value. Excellent service and follow-up. I would use them again in a heart beat if needed rosalea

I appreciate you taking the time to do this review. I so happy the job worked out for you in such a positive way. Our crews appreciated you for all your kindness.
We hired a different contractor to build a new retaining wall and remove the old retaining wall. The contractor started late, progressed slowly and demanded more money. When I finally refused to give anymore he walked off of the job with my front and back yards completely destroyed and/or piled over with dirt and broken concrete. Now I had to find someone to finish the project. I talked to a couple of other contractors and my wife and I were impressed with Dana Ansell of Dakini Engineering. Dana was attentive and understood what our "vision" was. With the understanding of what we wanted the wall for Dana devised a comprehensive plan of base materials/fill soils/wall drainage/top soil as well as a schedule that he promised would be followed to the best of his ability. Dakini Engineering finished on buget and EARLY, so much for the schedule! During the process Dana was actively giving us updates and the workers were professionals in every sense of the work. They came to work on time, worked diligently, cleaned up after themselves and they were respectful of my home and family. To sum up what I think of Dana and Dakini Engineering; I would recommend them to my mother.

Hi Jim and Valarie, Thank you for being such great customers and genuinely descent people. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with the first contractor you engaged. Experiences like that gives all in the construction industry a bad reputation. I hope you and your family are finally enjoying your new back yard. In the future if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We also maintain a large referral list of contractors who do quality work with excellent reputations. Thank you for the kind and excellent referral and testimony. Sincerely, Dana, Bill and the Dakini Crew
Excellent work, excellent value, but above all else, excellent customer service. I had extensive work done on my back yard and balconies with additional minor work throughout the house. I was extremely happy with the craftsmanship and the cost was thousands less than other bids. Dealing with the owner throughout the process was a real pleasure. While I know I wasn't their biggest customer, I always felt like I was.

I deeply appreciate your appreciation of our services, skill sets and the work we performed for you. As you know the Epi wood decking on your 3'rd story deck and the lower rear yard make over was a real chanlenge due to access and height conditions.
It has been a real pleasure meeting you and your family. It's nice to know that are country is being protected by men of your charactor and quality. I look forward to doing work for you in the future as the need dictates.
Excellent work, professional service, and very easy to work with. I've been getting compliments on their work for a week now. I actually look forward to being able to work with them again.

Thank you for your kind words and I'm so happy you and your neighbors appreciate the historical side walk improvement. It's been a pleasure to have been of service to you. Dana
Dakini Engineering was the last company I met with prior to selecting them as my contractor for the project. After first meeting with three other contractors, and my 35+ years in the construction industry, I had many questions when finally I met with Dana Ansel from Dakini. Every detail of the job was throughly explored as well as all my never ending questions being answered completely. Now that our house is "on the level again" I can truly say that everything I was promised either written or verbal was completed in an extremely professional manner. I cannot overstate how pleased we are with the finished product. It is rare when a project exceeds your expectations, but that is definately the case here. Much like a root canal, I hope to never need the services of a contractor who specializes in structural repairs again. However if I do, I would go straight to Dakini Engineering and save myself alot of time and money.

Thank you very much for such kind words. You had a very difficult foundation repiar. When a house is on 20 to 40 foot of fill soils and has settled over 6 inches in the last 40 years, it's never an easy under taking. The rainy season that hit in the middle of the repair also added addtional complications.
I've enjoyed getting to know you through the coarse of this project. It's always an honor to meet a honest, integris man of strong charactor.
We had signs of what we thought might be a cracked stab in our house. We fractically scheduled four different contractors to come out and give us estimates since we knew this could be thousands of dollars. The 4th, and the best, estimate came from Dana/Dakini Engineering. All three of the contractors prior to Dana all told me about the extensive work we needed to have done, and along with it, the expensive bills we would be incuring, all while doing little more then knocking on a piece of my floor tile. Dana came in and did a thorough inspection of the interior and exterior of my home, which the others did not, and told me that my problems and repairs were far less then the others indicated. Dana stayed for a lengthy ammount of time to educate me about our landscape and drainage problems and gave me plenty of guidance as to how to correct out situation, which interestingly had nothing to do with any of his services. He was going to make no money from this job, but stayed and made sure I understoood the entire situation. Because of Dana, we avoided THOUSANDS of dollars in unneccessay work and feel so relieved. I am so thankful for Dana's expertise and honesty and would highly recommend him to anyone!!!!

Thank you for your time in writing this review. It's always nice when a customer acknowledges our integrity in doing business. I'm so glad you didn't have to tear up your living room and Kitchen floor to perform a repair you didn't need. It has been a pleasure meeting you. Good luck in the future. Dana
When I was referred to Dakini I didn't expect them to be able to help me. My home had been built some time ago and had foundation problems and unleveled floors. Several contractors I had talked to said that being on the hillside I needed to talk to someone that had specialized skills in correcting major problems like mine. That is where Dakini came in. From my first meeting with the company representative I felt that this was a very knowledgeable person and my problems would be solvable. The job was started and it moved along at a very rapid pace. All workers were courteous and they kept my yard tidy considering they were digging holes, trenches and hauling dirt most of the time. The job was done inside the time I had been quoted and after they were done you couldn't tell they had been there. Never seen anything like it and I have had a lot of work done on my home over the years. Tim

The area where my new retaining walls and concrete patio slab were going to be located were surrounded by many obstacles; 2 large trees, above ground spa, metal shed, covered patio and garage. Dana, owner of Dakini Engineering, operated his bobcat excavator with skill and expertise as he maneuvered around these obstacles in limited space to make grade for the retaining walls and patio slab. After grade was made, I built the keystone retaining walls and when I had questions concerning the walls Dana was always there to give me his advice and help. Dakini Engineering's concrete crew came in next and poured an incredible colored concrete patio slab. Their finish work was flawless and the extra effort they gave to detail amazed me. I'm impressed with Dakini Engineering from head of the company to the construction workers in the field. I would recommend Dakini Engineering to everyone considering a construction project. Thank you Dana for all your help and friendship.

Thank you, Don, for all your kind words. I'm happy we were able to meet your expectations on your project. The very limited access for small equipment made it a challenge as you know. Sincerely, Dana
