I enrolled my cousins at dance fx with the intent of bettering there lives by making them a part of something. They were really enjoying it, so when the subject of a recital came up me and my entire family were for it. We paid there recital fee and costume deposit which stated non-refundable if the child quits or could not be in the show for some reason that we would be at fault for, and were anxious for the "BIG DAY", only to find out a week before the recital that they were not part of the show. Even after the fees were paid and regular attendances every week. We were shocked, confused and disappointed. When we asked why, they blamed the girls, saying the girls told them (dance fx) that they were not in the show. Normal business practice is keeping a log of who is participating, who has paid and who has not. A recital takes practice and choreography. They knew from day one they were not going to put our girls in the show but failed to notify anyone. I automatically assumed I would get my money back because it was not due to any fault of ours or our children. They never had any intention of putting our girls in there recital but were very quick to accept the money and put the blame on two twelve year old girls whom we left under there supervision.
