We were going out of town and needed a place to take care of our loved ones--two golden retreivers--Sam and Tex. Dapper Dog Day Spa assured us 24-hour care, three walks daily, a quiet room with beds and couches for the dogs to relax on, etc. It sounded great so we gladly paid upfront (as they suggested) a fee that was more than our two-day trip was costing us. It didn't matter. Due to a snow storm we returned a day early, excited to get our dogs back to our home. Unfortunately, when we arrived at Dapper Dog Day Spa, the place was deserted, the floors were covered with feces and urine, the quiet room was locked and dark and the 6 dogs in captivity were going crazy. Obviously there was no 24-hour supervision, nor were the dogs let out to go to the bathroom judging by the messes on the floor. We called the Humane Society which instructed us to call the Boulder County Sheriff's office which handles animal abuse. When the Sheriff arrived he was mortified at what he saw. Fortunately he was able to get a contact number for the owner and she came down. When I told her "give me my dogs and my money back" she replied "I'm not giving you your money back. I don't know where my employee is." She never said sorry nor showed remorse for traumatizing our dogs and ruining our trip. Needless to say we would never use or recommend Dapper Dog Day Spa.
