I moved to the ATL from MIA four years ago. Dr. Gilbert has been my dentist since my arrival in Atlanta. He and his team are knowledgeable, fun and scheduling is very efficient. I've never had to wait for my appointment. I have terrible teeth and have had a lot of dental work done over my many years. In fact, I have on six natural teeth remaining in my mouth. After years of "patch-work', it was time to "bite-the-bullet" (semi pun intended). At the encouragement of Dr. Gilbert, I decided that the best thing for me to do to ensure a proper bite, even color and beautiful smile, was to replace all of my teeth with crowns (except for the six natural ones). So, I began that process, which also included a few implants also. BOTTOM LINE: My new teeth are beautiful, my smile is gorgeous, my bite has improved. Dr. Gilbert, his assistant, Michelle and his lab, Adina are not just dental practitioners, they are truly artists!

One can't rate a dentist based on one encounter -- unless it's a really, REALLY bad one (and I've known a few). I first met Dr G and his team back in 2008, shortly after moving to Atlanta. A molar had fractured clean in two late on Thursday, so on Friday I went looking for help. As it happens, most dentists are playing golf on Friday and their offices are closed. Luckily for me, Dr G is a runner rather than a golfer, so his office was open, Kudzu loves him, plus he's local. That started me on a loong dental journey, fueled by a previous history of bad dental hygiene, dentistry, genetics etc., etc. that has allowed me to get to know Dr G et al. fairly well. If you want specifics, see below, but the bottom line is that if you need a cavity filled; yup, he can do that. Regular checkups; no problem. Have a dental issue that you're in denial over; sure, he'll patch it, give you some good advice that you should probably consider carefully but sends you on your way with no pressure. Have a dental issue that every other dentist you've met has glossed over because they don't have the experience, skill, time, or the interest to deal with.... well, that's when you need to talk to Dr G. As you may have surmised, Dr G is probably the best dentist I've ever encountered, but his team is just as good. Shari, his hygienist, is second to none in terms of being supremely gentle but thorough. Michelle (Asst), Annette, Debbie, Patti - all highly experienced and lovely to work with.
I walked into Dr G's office with a fractured tooth plus a lifetime of bad dentistry that had caused bite problems that I was well aware of. Dr G offered to crown the offending tooth and send me on my way, or to try and address the various issues (he's a thinker, a rare dentist indeed). He didn't pull any punches - he made it clear what potentially was involved and at what cost. I ultimately went with the latter and have NO complaints - a full set of perfect teeth meant to last!
Area Atlanta, GA
Cost $15,000 - $19,999

This was my first visit to this office and I got lost. I called the office from my cell phone while trying to find the location and the lady answering the phone (sorry, I forgot her name) was very patient and helpful. In fact, I had to call again because I was still lost (at that point I was very frustrated and unnerved), but the lady was still very patient and gave me further directions. I finally arrived at the office more than an hour late but I was still able to see Dr. Gilbert. The staff joked with me about the scenic route I took to get to the office, which did make me feel better. :-) Dr. Gilbert initial asked me a few questions just to get to know me, which was a nice touch, even though my nerves were still bad from the scenic route I took. I hope I didn't come across as a little unfriendly - I was just still on the unnerved side. Dr. Gilbert was thorough with his exam and explanations. I haven't had the work done yet, but I am confident he can do the work needed on my teeth competently.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gilbert's for over 20 years and the technical quality of his work is outstanding. He and his staff have been friendly, courteous and efficient. I would not go to anyone else. Harry Edmondson

Dr. Gilbert and his staff are very knowledgeable and professional but they are also personable and fun. It is a fine practice and one my family has used for so long that I can't remember which dentist we used before. I cannot imagine ever going elsewhere for dental work. I also can't imagine a finer dentist anywhere.

Dr. Gilbert has been my dentist for 20+ years and I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience there. Never! Friendly, funny staff, no waiting, no unecessary upsell, and they really get to know you as a person. Just today Shari, my dental hygentist (also for 20+ years)asked me what was new in my life, because she could tell from looking in my mouth that I was stressed less than usual. It's true, I have a new career and am happier. She knew it just by examining my teeth. Go figure! Anyway, they're great so go check them out.

I just had my first appointment and can only how impressed I am. He could figure out the reason for a bite problem i have for now 40 years! It was so brilliant i was shocked :O. Very good questions very clever thoughts and very nice staff. Now i understand completely why any of the treatments i had to fix my bite did not work!!! I am very relieved. He is very down to earth without loosing the visions of a good treatment and how to make it possible. Still didn't talk about $ but he didn't charge me the first app. He can give the most expensive and more definite solution as well and the most affordable too and in between. I am very curious and optimistic about the treatment still to come, but i had to give this review.

In 1999, I went to work for Northside Realty in Sandy Springs and I wanted to find a dentist near there. One day, I saw a dental lab truck parked at the post office. When the driver came out, I asked him, "Who sends you your best work?" He said unequivocally, "Darrel Gilbert! No brainer." 13 years later, I still go to Dr. Gilbert and everything about his office is terrific. It's just a high class operation. It's very comforting to know that you've got the best dentist in town working on your teeth. It takes away all the worry. I don't work anywhere near Sandy Springs now but I've never changed dentists.

Dr. Gilbert and his staff realy go out of there way to make you feel comfortable. No one liskes to go to the dentist but they are great, really give you all your options and tell you what to expect from a procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Gilbert!

Went to see Dr. Gilbert for the first time to get some advice about a broken crown. He examined my tooth, answered all the questions, offered some advice, and did not charge me for the visit. The rest of the staff was nice too, overall - good first impression!

I am so happy that I found Dr. Gilbert. Both he and his staff were very helpful and just plain nice. There was no long wait in a crowded waiting room (I was the only one there) and I was taken back right on time. Dr. Gilbert was very thorough and took a wait-and-see approach, which I appreciate. Best of all, no one tried to sell me anything. The visit reminded me of going to the dentist when I was a kid, an all around pleasant, stress-free experience. I highly recommend Dr. Gilbert.

When nobody else (at least six previous dentists in Atlanta) could fix the pain in my jaw and teeth, Dr. Gilbert could. And, I no longer grind my teeth at night. Bye, bye TMJ. Bye, bye night guard.
