I visited in June 2011 with a complaint of chest pains. After $10,000 of exams/testing, numerous Drs, inlcuding a cardiologist, I was told I was stressed and given anti-anxiety meds. While frustrated that I wasn't given a reasonable diagnosis, I was pleased with the care given. I returned 2 weeks later with more severe symptoms. Unfortunately, this was the morning of July 4th. Despite a complaint of chest pains and shortness of breath, I was left alone in an ER room behind a closed door. I repeatedly called for a nurse for 45 minutes. It wasn't until I threatened to walk-out that someone finally came. I was disgusted that someone who could barely breathe would be left unattended for so long. I didn't see my floor Dr (they are supposed to see all patients first thing in the morning) until I threatened to leave again (still took 3 hours). At that time I learned that a test I was told would be ordered the previous night was not ordered and I might have to wait until the next day. Once again, I had $10,000 of testing, and was discharged with a diagnosis of acid-reflux. My pain continued to worsen and I finally went to my primary care phsician. She listened to me, touched my chest (not one of the 5-6 Drs at Hillandale, ever touched my chest) and gave me the right diagnosis and medication. I later researched and learned that my condition is common for my age and easily diagnosed. I suffered needless radiation, 2 months of severe pain, missed work and fear. I will never return.
