We own a gunite pool with a leak. We've researched many repair options. The website for a French system, Desjoyaux, said they are an affordable fix for leaking pools. They sell heavy membrane liners that can be fitted to the pool, and a pipe-less filter system that bypasses old plumbing. At their GA showroom we spoke to Cliff. He spent close to an hour reviewing options with us. We made an appointment to get a quote from Billy in two days. Hopefully, we could be swimming in 7 weeks. Then the problems started. Billy never called or showed up on Thursday. I called Friday and was told we weren't on the schedule. We had to reschedule for a week out. When we finally met Billy, he seemed to know his stuff. Our last renovation had cost 12K. He said it was good starting point for pricing. We planned to fix damaged tile and concrete, put in a membrane and new filter system, add a salt system and possibly a heater. He ball-parked the job at 18K, but would run the numbers for a lower price. We were excited. The estimate was due the next day. It came a day late and Billy had priced the job at 38K! My brother had just BUILT a new pool for that. There was also a no frills quote for 24K. This wasn't even competitive with regular repair options. I asked why the quote increased by 20K? I got an apology and a promise to review the numbers. I never heard from them. Desjoyaux has a small staff and can't deliver on promises. A trusted company has our business for 18-20K.
