WOW! The sandwiches are horrible. Thick slabs of meat that look like the prepackaged stuff, rolls that are definitely not homemade, and very rigid service. An elderly woman came in and asked to substitute the meatballs (which are put on just about every sandwich) for another meat and was told "We don't substitute our meats, I'll have to charge you for that". What? Was the sky going to fall? Or were the sandwich makers going to become totally confused be a special order? What was most disturbing was that after that elderly woman left with her food, the employees started to bash her loud enough that anyone in the place could hear them.

I was quite surprised at jim's review as we substitute another meat for the meatballs all the time without charging extra. Meatball comes on 3 of our specialty sandwiches, not just about every sandwich. Thick slabs of meat? We slice our meat daily and most people would like a thick slice. I don't think we slice that thick. And,we have never claimed to make our own bread. We get our bread from a specialty bakery. Typically our employees are considered friendly, not rigid. As far as 'bashing' a customer - I'll look in to that. As you can see by all of our other ratings, jim's review seems to be out of the norm.
Good sandwich at a reasonable price. Only bummer is the extras like olives, peppers, etc. are expensive.

Peppers are free on the sandwiches. We charge .50 for a side of whole peppers. Black olives and pickles are also .50. I think if you look at other 'non-chain' restaurants you'd find our 'extras' are rather low priced comparably. But, thank you for the nice review.
I have been a customer for 10 years- there is no other sandwich place around. When family comes from East coast and they want a sandwich- this is where I take them!!! And the price can not be beat!! All the employees are very nice and pleasant and you get quick service.

I've been coming here for well over 30 years. The food is wonderful, the service is quick and you can't beat the price. No other sub sandwich shop even comes close!

I was brought here when I was in High School 33 years ago. I ate here a lot when I was pregnant. And, it's still a treat to stop here. We get the ham sandwich even though I'm not a big ham eater. There just soooo good!

I have been going to the Grinder since I was a little kid, and it is still the best place to get a sandwich! Also, if you need something to eat FAST, they usually have your sandwich ready before you finish paying for it!!
