I really have fairly low expectations when it comes to cable/dish. I understand that customer service is basically an afterthought in this business. But...Directtv really is bad. Not only could they not get my dish to work, but they never showed up when they said they would come back to get it working. And now...2 months after I told them to stop trying to install the dish..I am still trying to resolve a bill for a reciever that was never installed. Yes..Direct TV has billed me over $400 for a piece of equipment that never was in my home. Comcast is not great...but direct tv is awful in Atlanta. There aren't words to describe how bad this company has been to deal with.

I was a customer of direct tv for almost 4 years and I finally woke up and realize they nickel and dime you on everything. Never did they offer me a new box or DVR. Never did they give me a discount for being a loyal customer.They charged me for every little thing and even when they told me they were giving me a $10 credit they still didn't add it to my bill.Glad I woke up to realize they are better companies out there.

When my TIVO receiver stopped working, they wouldn't repair and wouldn't replace the device without a new 2 year contract. The technician told me he could swap out my receiver without having to sign a new contract. This piece of junk stopped working 3 months later. I tried to cancel my service an they threatened me with a $300+ early cancellation fee, claiming I had signed up for 2 more years!!! I was very clear with customer service and the technician that I would not sign any additional contracts. We were sent to collections over the cancellation fee. I had no option, other than to pay, to avoid damaging my credit. There was no help whatsoever at customer service. They know they don't have to provide any customer service, so they don't! Please do not reward big companies for assuming because they are huge, they don't have to care! Ditch Direct!

8 months in and NOT ONE BILL has been correct and most are WAY OVER! You'll spend HOURS on the phone trying to correct issues b/c NO ONE knows what they are doing! Now at the 8th month they are telling us there is a rate increase even though we are under a SET CONTRACT RATE!
