We started working with Karen for training when our puppy was really young. She came to our house and worked with Ginger but also trained us on what we needed to be doing. It helped in so many ways...it gave us the confidence to know what we were supposed to be doing to properly train and how to coach our children during this time as well. We have also used Karen's service for boarding training. This was my favorite because we went away on vacation to come home and have Ginger better trained. Since training we have always used Karen to board Ginger. She is our baby and we know and trust that she is in good hands so we can relax and enjoy our time away from her. I would highly recommend!!

After having attended one of those pet chain store training events, we knew we needed more help and expertise in training our puppy mix, part basset hound and part pit bull. I cannot tell you how stubborn she, Yona, is. Within minutes of our first one on one with Karen Smalley, Yona knew who was in charge and was very attentive. We began the one on one a little earlier than maybe should have, about 4 -4 1/2 months old, but Yona was growing so much so quickly, we knew we were going to lose control quickly. Karen quickly covered the command basics and showed us how to get Yona's attention when she really wanted something else, humanely. We quickly knew Karen was not only experienced and knowledgeable, she was able to quickly gain Yona's respect, and thus training progressed very nicely. I had just had back surgery and literally could not take Yona on a simple walk without struggling to keep her in toe and under control. It took part of the first training session and I was able to control Yona and started enjoying our walks. I cannot say enough about Karen and her training abilities and her superb communications in conveying what the owners need to do and how. Once Karen leaves, the owners need to take over and continue the training. Karen quickly made that point and taught us how to continue and progress. IT WORKED!!! Highly recommend Doggie du Good for your pet's training!!!

My husband and I were referred to Doggie du Good by our vet. We had the opportunity to work with Karen Smalley, who turned our poorly mannered, high-energy mini goldendoodle into a very well-behaved, high-energy mini goldendoodle. Over a week of board training with Karen, Lucy (our dog) came home a completely improved dog with etiquette that continually pays dividends by allowing us to have a dog that can and will behave appropriately in multiple settings. Karen was wonderful in showing and explaining to both my husband and me ways to continually reinforce positive behaviors to ensure Lucy's manners became routine in her everyday demeanor. I highly recommend Doggie du Good and Karen Smalley to anyone looking to transform their dog into the well-behaved canine companion you've always desired.

Doggie du Good is the best "second home" I could ask for when I board my dogs. They are well cared for and comfortable. They get to play and enjoy being with Melissa and the other dogs there. I've also had the benefit of training my dogs with Doggie du Good, and successfully addressing behavior issues when bringing a rescue into my home.

I have been working with Melissa for about a year now. Sounds like a long time, right? Well I wanted to do agility with my cattle dog and I honestly didn't realize the can of worms I was opening! The progress we have made is truly amazing when I look at at where we began. Melissa has been patient with both myself and my dog (which is invaluable), she is extremely knowledgeable, very accessible when I have any questions in between our sessions, and beyond encouraging. I just recently got another puppy and we are very much looking forward to starting foundation classes at Doggie Du Good. I know that will help get my little guy off the to very best start. I can not thank Melissa enough for all her help. In short, my dogs and I couldn't be happier customers!

Kudos to Karen at Doggie du Good. With her help, our shy dog Charlie has blosssomed. We have taken classes and also one-on-one training with Karen and we know how much she cares about what she does. With her help Charlie is much more comfortable on walks and is just an overall happier dog. She makes sure that you know how important it is to stay consistent and be a part of the dogs training. You will be comfortable with and understand each lesson worked on and if not, she will go over it again. Charlie has also boarded with Karen. Meeting and playing with other dogs in a controlled environment has helped him become more comfortable. I like knowing that he gets a lot of love while staying there too. One only has to see her working with her dog and the ones that she trains to see how much she loves dogs and cares about their behaviors.

My dog Harry was a rescue pup. We felt he really needed one on one training and Karen Smalley was highly recommended to me. Harry is a bit skittish of people to say the least and I knew it would take a special person with lots of patience and doggie know how. Karen was amazing and so accomodating. Harry has difficulty in new surroundings so she came to us. It took some time for Harry to get comfortable that first day, but by the time Karen left he sat waiting at the door for her to come back. Harry is improving every week with the help of Doggie Du Good!

We often joke that our dog "owes" his place in our home to Karen Smalley! We rescued Fenway,a 9 wk old lab mix. Our vet recommended Karen and we contacted her immediately upon adopting him. After a few private lessons, we participated in a beginner puppy class with Karen. This class was most valuable & would recommend anyone with a new dog to enroll in a dog training class offered by Doggie Du Good! This class taught our puppy basic commands, but more importantly it taught us how to better understand how our dog reacts and responds to us. It was just as much a dog owner training, as it was puppy training. Our pup was a bit of a challenge due to his high energy level; there were times where we thought it might be best if we returned him to the rescue. But thanks to Karen & her love for what she does, Fenway is now 2 years old & we can't imagine our life without him in it! We have continued to use Karen with training & consultations on an "as needed" basis and also board Fenway with her. We would not trust him with anyone else! We recommend any & all dog owners to take advantage of the awesome services provided by Doggie Du Good & its trainers.

Doggie du Good not only did obedience training for my puppy- but also did specialized training for my Service Animal. In addition I attended Agility class for my other dog and am about to begin a new class with my now year old doodle. I have also boarded with them. Caring- loving- I would say highly expert in their field of training and agility. Fun to work with too.
