This is one of my favorite places to eat. It's pricey, so I don't go often but for a birthday or special event-it's a great pick. The food is excellent as well as the atmosphere. If you can get a seat near the window the view is great too.

Great restaurant. A co-worker invited us to dinner and though had never heard of Dogwood we were so pleased with how quiet and beautiful the restaurant was while having dinner. Such a nice change from too many loud restaurants in Atlanta. The food and service were simply outstanding. A great place to impress....

I get to Midtown every few weeks and Dogwood has become the jumping off point for whatever mischief I am about that evening. Once in the door, you know you are in for a treat. The staff is gracious and formal without being self important or overbearing. They'll get you to your table at whatever pace you choose, be it frenetic or languid, giving you plenty of time to take in the elegant decor and enjoy a chat with the friendly bartenders. The food manages to be modern without every compromising its southern charm and soul. My current personal favorites are the southern fried quail breast and the hearty beef shortrib stew. The winelist is extensive but approachable and there's an interesting mix of specialty drinks on the cocktail menu (Cantaloupe Martini...try it..you will like it). Go on a date, for lunch or go with friends...just go! This place should not be missed by anyone who loves to dine!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Smart, sexy & sophisticated but oh so comfortable. - Kathrina - Today My friend, Ilkin, took me to this fine restaurant after I had been on the road for 9 hours and dreaming of fried chicken. She had just the place. Dogwood is a very sexy restaurant with simply stylish lines and comfortable seating. It was just a few days after Christmas so the tree was still lit. For a Monday evening, the weekend after Christmas, it was fairly full. Our waiter was funny, pleasant and helpful with recommendations. I had the soup flight and the friend chicken breast with greens and mac cheese. I savored every bite as I bit into the lightly battered, juicy chicken and I practically inhaled the greens. I can't remember what my friend had but she enjoyed her entree as well. We ended the meal with coffee and shared a superb chocolate - hazelnut torte with a scoop of peanut butter ice cream. Now mind you I am from the San Francisco Bay Area where fine dining and the latest in California cuisine is the norm. So I was quite impressed with Dogwood, its sophisticated take on Southern food, the staff's attentiveness & hospitality, and its sexy dining rooms.

While you will be comfortable at Dogwood in jeans and a nice shirt, the niche that the restaurant fills is more along the lines of upscale business and pre/post theater dining. The atmosphere is very elegant while remaining open and inviting. The staff address customers by name and are very accommodating. The food is excellent. Dogwood's chefs have created a very Southern menu that shows what happens when you take Georgia-grown kitchen traditions and refine them in culinary school. The grit-flights are a unique way to get a feel for what Dogwood is all about. Three small bowls of their creamy golden grits come out, each topped differently with a Southern classic such as low country shrimp, pimento cheese, or fried oysters. Specials make great use of local produce, meats, and cheeses and keep the menu fresh. A great place to take a date or business client whether it's just for dinner and dessert or a full meal.

My wife and I recently had the extreme pleasure to dine at the newly opened Dogwood restaurant, and we found all we could hope for and more, especially in a new, upscale venue. To begin, the staff is extraordinary! We were treated to some of the most polite, respectful greetings ever from the valet to the host / hostess, bar staff and the well-experienced wait staff. Our waiter offered us a great welcome to our first (and clearly not the last!) visit to Dogwood. The food is extraordinary, the wine list excellent, and this is perhaps the classiest and most elegant restaurant on the Atlanta scene! A great place for both romance and business, as well as a casual respite from our hectic lives. If you miss this place, you miss the BEST dining experience of Atlanta that will easily rival the great restaurants of NY, LA, Chicago etc. The owners clearly know the business, and have patiently developed a true dining destination. Very highly recommended!

The Dogwood opened last weekend July 26 and wow were we impressed. The food was delicious and the staff/service was great. What a refreshing new place that Atlantan's and out of towners will come to love and return to.

Went to the new restaurant on Peachtree street this past monday. Great place, the decor is sexy. The place is as close to the restaurants I have seen and eaten in New York. The grits were amazing especially the fried oyster grits. I really loved the tempura quail as my app and for dinner I had the smoked short ribs that were the best short ribs I have ever had. For desert I had the cheese plate. No small plate here, good cheeses and fun condiments. This place is a must try! Oh yeah, the wine list has more selections than you can imagine.

Dogwood is a fabulous new restaurant and bar that has taken scrumptious Southern cuisine to a higher level. The ambiance is cool and contemporary, while managing to be warm and comfortable at the same time. And the food! Try the Smoked Georgia Trout Cake to start - it was divine. Our entree, the Grilled Tenderloin of Beef is an absolute must - it is one of the best steaks my husband and I have ever had the pleasure of eating. We've been talking about it ever since. We finished the meal with the luxurious Orange-Vanilla Creme Brulee. The wine selection is truly excellent. We highly recommend this new Midtown gem.
