I wanted to thank Dr Best and the staff at Due West for all the care and compassion they provided during the difficult decision made to put our 15 yr old dog to sleep. I have been using their services for the past 3 years and never had a bad experience, after switching from another Veterinary Office nearby . They never pushed un-needed tests or services and were always genuinely interested in the health and care of my dog. At the most difficult time at the end, they were there to help and support us. I recommend them to all my friends as I feel they are really about caring for the animals and not about making an extra $buck. It will be awhile before I can make a decision to replace my beloved dog. but if I do, I know Due West Animal Clinic is the first place I'll take them for care

I've been bringing my pets to Due West Clinic for almost ten years and when I walked in this morning and saw one of the staff was still choked up because of an old sick dog that they had to put down I realized I had been coming to the right place. Very caring staff, that's what it should be all about.

My name is General Chin Li. I'm grateful that my domestic slaves, the Sayyahs, saved my life by placing me in the care of the pros at Due West Animal Clinic. Dr.Best treated me for a tumorous ear infection. I thank Catwoman that we were led to Dr. Best & his Due West team! He operated on my tumor, housed, fed & nursed me for 3 days. His staff treated me in the royal fashion to which I am accustomed. Of course, They catered to my every whim affectionately. Though I had to tolerate embarrassing pettings in front of other "Due West" inmates. On the fourth day I came home with no bandages or e-collar. It was magical! Instead of using conventional surgery as other vets proposed, Dr. Best applied a state-of-the-art "Cauterizing-bloodless" procedure. I'm home & as fit as a fiddle, thanks to Dr. Best & his Due West team! (purrr, purrr, purrr)

I recently moved and we are new to this vet. I am impressed with the nursing staff and Dr. Best. We have Cavalier spaniels, and he is very knowledgeable. He took 30 minutes with me answering all my questions about my new puppy, shared lots of stories about his experiences with animal control. He obviously loves dogs, and so does the staff. His pricing was in line with the other vet I had used and others in the area.

This is the most expensive, uncaring vet office I have ever been in! Our dog hurt his paw and they had to stitch it up - could not give us a dollar figure until the surgery was complete - the total $1500!!! Outrageous we then had to have it redressed every other day for $20! Staff is rude and uncaring!

The doctor was not friendly but the staff seemed to care. I took my 14 1/2 your old dog to have him put to sleep due to his health. They over medicated the dog to get him ready for the shoot that would put him to sleep. My dog was gasping for air just trying to breath and he was out to the point of being in a coma. he should have only been relaxing at this point to give me a little time with my dog (first child). It was all clinical with no caring from the doctor. I was so hurt that I could not even complain and just left.

I have been using Dr. Best for over 10 years. He is a top notch vet who really has spent his entire life caring for the welfare of cats and dogs. He works with animal control and helps curb animal abuse and dog fighting rings. His office is not out to "make money". On the contrary, I have found them to be less expensive than most other clinics in this area. To be honest, in recent years, Dr. Best is semi-retiring. He is hiring part time traveling vets to fill his place on days that he is out. Some of these vets are okay, others are not. I would try to use Dr. Best only, but if you see one of the temps and have a bad experience, please call Dr. Best and tell him. He really does care. For shots and regular checkups you are safe here. For the big things or before doing surgery, you can always get a second opinion (which is the best thing to do anyway!) You would be shocked at how different vets see things and how different their recommendations are. There's a vet clinic on every corner. All I know is that I believe Dr. Best cares for animals and he is a good vet. But, I would not let him do surgery until I had a second opinion.

I recently had a horrific experience with this group. I believe their only goal is making money. I took my injured dog there for surgery on laceration that she had self-mutilated. I paid $250 for the surgery and asked for a protective device for her to wear so she wouldn't self-mutilate again while she was recovering. I was told it wasn't neccesary. Two days later she had ripped the wound apart and was infected. Due West clinic was "too busy" to see her to the following day. I paid another $120 and had to treat an open wound for several days. This time I received a protective device. My dog suffered needlessly for days. I was told to bring her back for another surgery to reclose the wound for another $250. Due West refused to accept any responsibility nor did they seem to care about how much my dog had suffered.

For over a year Dr Best gave my dog a death sentence and treated her for something she didn't have. His drugs killed her immune system which led to Demodex and a severe bacterial infection. After spending several thousand dollars with a specialist, we nursed her back to health. Two other vets confirmed that Due West continually treated her for something she didn't have. We paid lots of $ to Due West for surgery, meds, visits, etc...all to almost kill our dog. When we complained, we were told not to come back to their facility.

What a great team! My daschound - Rowdy, had to be put down and as you can imagine, this was a very difficult time for me. Dr. Best and his staff handled my unfortunate situation with professionalism and grace. They really do LOVE animals!
