I live about 40 minutes away from the office, but went to see Dr. Light because I heard of him through a relative. My son had an in-office procedure that went smoothly with no further complications. I recommend him highly and think his staff is terrific.

I can honestly say Dr. Light is a truly amazing doctor in every aspect. He is also a very sweet and you can tell he really cares about your situation and will help you in any way possible. When I had an infected toe caused by diabetes and we thought he was going to have to cut off my toe, but he performed surgery on it and succesfully saved me from loosing it. Upon my most recent visit he found blockages in my legs and was very shocked none of my previous doctors had noticed this. He referred me to a vascular doctor and upon that visit the doctor found i had a blockage in my brain, as well as both sides of my neck which were 99% blocked. They said it was a miracle I didn't have a stroke. Without Dr.Light finding those blockages and referring me to the proper doctor I may not have been here today. I appreciate him and he is a doctor I will never forget. Thank you Dr.Light you are a life saver.

A great doctor- very friendly and diligent. My foot problem was difficult to diagnose, but he worked with me over the weeks and months, trying ever mode of treatment available, test, and technique. Truly, a fantastic doctor, very knowledgeable, patient, and kind; he won't stop until your comfort level returns and activities can resume; he goes the extra mile x 1000; very highly recommended!!

When I started having pain in my foot/ankle, I thought it was due to an earlier break of my 5th metatarsal that required a screw and a bone graft to heal. I came to Kudzu to find a new doctor. I live in Norcross and and have a 35 minute drive to see Dr. Light but his skill and caring manner are worth the drive. My injury turned out to be a torn peroneal tendon and required surgery to repair it. Dr. Light let me try conservative care (a cam walker boot) but it didn't help much. When I researched my diagnosis on the internet, the consensus was it would take surgery for my foot to heal. The 8 weeks of non weight bearing and another month of partial weight bearing was longer than I expected and I didn't really get well until I had a month of physical therapy. but once I started the PT, the pain and swelling finally resolved.

I knew I had plantar fasciitis before I went and had done some research on the internet. When I went to Dr. Light, he basically gave me the same options I had read about and asked me to pick the ones I wanted to try. He refused to give any advice, just statistics and prices. I tried several of his options but did not find relief. I switched doctors to Dr. Heden (this was before they combined offices) - he gave advice but still didn't help (he was distracted by a plantar wort - I didn't care so much about that). I finally went to Dr. Perry Julian who HELPED me.

Heel pain is an incredibly common problem and there are about 10 common conservative treatment options. It is my routine to review these options when I meet a patient and "start simple" and incorporate different treatments depending on the success or failure of the initial treatments. I am happy to give shots and place patients in casts but find that many people do not need these and do not want to have the lifestyle issues that go along with various treatments. I also cannot look at a patient and know what treatment option ultimately will "fix" their problem. I wish I would have been more successful in fixing this patient's problem in their first visit but unfortunately this in not how heel pain often works. I am happy that they ultimately were able to gain comfort, and this is also often common. I keep about 95% of my patients more comfortable with one or more forms of conservative treatment options for heel pain. Only after 3 to 6 months of treatment and failure of at least 3 different treatments is surgery or shock wave therapy considered.
Dr. Light and his staff are great. I have never been more impressed by a doctor's office -- I was in and out the door in under 20 minutes each time I went in for an appointment. The treatment plan that Dr. Light outlined was straight-forward and has worked. I recommend this office for any foot or ankle problems.

For the first time in my life, I decided to see a podisatrist and went to see Dr. Light. I had a fabulous experience and walked out pain-free. Dr. Light's staff was friendly, pleasant and efficient. Dr. Light came right in after I got my room and listened to my description of what was bothering me. Boy, he is a good listener and it was clear that he cared about my situation and giving me all my options so I could decide what was right for me. I am thankful that I went to see Dr. Light and highly recommend him to anyone who needs a doctor who knows what he is doing and cares. Not many doctors are such good listeners and explain things so well to their patients.

After much research I consulted Dr. Light last year about bunion problems on both feet. He clearly explained my conditions & the range of options for treating them, including the likelihood of success & possible complications. Based on his recommendation & my own investigation I chose somewhat different procedures for each foot (because of different conditions)& had the surgery 4 mos. apart. After observing my very positive experiences, my daughter recently had similar bunion surgery by Dr. Light with the same excellent results. Not only was Dr. Light very detailed with his pre-op exams, but also he was precise & careful when it came to care during the recovery process. My daughter & I were extremely pleased with the professionalism, friendliness & concern of both Dr. Light & his wonderful staff, Denise & Kendra. We recommend him without hesitation.

Poor service, poor accounting staff and all they want is your money. YES!!! Dr. Light was very professional and courteous. His surgery just didn't work out for me. Fine. But it's the staff that I've had problem with. First time I went in for check-up and pre-op, they were very friendly and courteous. Different story after I got my surgery. My foot never healed (scheduled for another surgery elsewhere) and their customer service just sucks. It's surprising how they were so quick to send my bill but I had to request for my record 3 times until I finally got it. They don't care about you, all they want is your money. They sent my account to legal recovery resourse after few months for such small amounts and I started getting harassed by them. It is the worst doctor's visit I have ever had!!! EVER. Dr. Light, if you are really concerned about your business, you should reconsider your staff. really.

Anytime I do any procedure my goal is to fix the problem 100%. Not every surgery obtains this level of success. The potential for complications and expected success rates are discussed prior to any surgery.
The volume of positive comments posted on this Kudzu site regarding the quality of our care and concern for each patient speaks for itself. I believe that my staff provides the same quality of care that I expect from myself every day for every patient.
Patients are only sent to collections after 3 bills are sent and multiple phone calls are made to try to address any financial concerns or special situation. Payment arrangements are always allowed. Our preference would be to never have to send anyone to collections. Mark Light, DPM FACFAS
I spent 1 1/2 years going to an orthopedic doctor for my foot and heal pain. Had I gone to Dr. Light first, I would have saved so much time and money. He prescribed a treatment that gave me 90% improvement the first 2 weeks. He is very professional, very knowledgable and has a wonderfully efficient office. Do not hesitate to see him--Dr. Light is great!

Dr. Light is a great podiatrist. He cares about your problems, and seeks to help with your treatment. He even saw me on a day that I had no appointment. I drove from Cartersville, and he treated me because he knew how far I came. The orthotics are great, and my treatments for my neuroma are helping. I just appreciate the fact that you are not just a number but an actual person that he wants to help. The staff is great, too.

I found Dr. Light on Kudzu. Dr. Light had a cancellation and was able to see my son the next day after calling his office. He performed an in-office procedure on my son with great care and expertise. Office staff was outstanding. I wish every doctor and staff were this great.

Dr. Light just performed surgery on my foot the day before this writing. I have been to his office many times and all I received was care, understanding by both he and his staff. I even called a few weeks ago to ask if a colleague of mine that had a tennis injury the day before could be worked in... no problem. He took care of her as if she had been a patient for many years. Denise and Kendra, always helpful, always kind and always ready to assist. Dr. Light personally called be at home to check on me and I have been very pleased, very pleased with the service and personal attention I have been given. Thank you E. Cobb Foot and Ankle Care.

they just want your money. I saw Dr. Light for the first time and he was already pushing me for surgery and that was only my first appointment with him. I got their bill and I tried to make payment arrangements, looking at the bill the office chaged me for every little thing, the insoles were $80 and I found it at Wal-Mart for $12.99. I tried to make payment arrangements with them and left messages with their accounting person who was always at lunch everytime I called and I never got a phone call back and next thing I knew they my account to Legal Recovery Services for a bill that is only 2 months old. Poor service, poor accounting staff and all they want is your money.

One of the things that I pride myself with is the fact that surgery is never the only treatment option presented. There are, however, many problems that can only be "fixed" by surgery. It is always the patient's choice on how they treat their problem. Not everyone is a surgical candidate and not everyone can consider surgery because of personal reasons. The fact that an insole was dispensed indicates that a conservative treatment option was presented and accepted. Fees are also reviewed before anyone leaves the office.
Over the counter insoles are readily available at countless locations including Wal Mart. They are not of the same quality as the products that I dispense from my office nor are they usually as successful at relieving symptoms.
There is always someone available to answer phones 9 hours a day. Patients are only sent to collections after 3 bills are sent and multiple phone calls are made to try to address any financial concerns or special situation. Payment arrangements are always allowed. Our preference would be to never have to send anyone to collections.
