We had work done by Ed Castro (Hannah was the designer), some years back. i just reviewed some of the previous comments and I think the most notable issue is, when problems occur, they don't get back to you. I wasn't trying to get free work, simply some help in repairing a critical problem. Their response was they were three weeks out. I still haven't had a returned call from several weeks ago. I find businesses that serve the customers well when things go wrong are the ones that deserve repeat business. I'll not use Ed Castro again...

Extremely poor customer service. We spent more than $30,000 to redo our backyard and we told them immediately that 3 of the trees were dead. They blamed us even though they set up the irrigation system. They told us to hold on to the trees for the winter and that they would under the guarantee. Now they are blaming us and don't want to change the trees. Awful service overall. Numerous delays in the projects too.

Ed Castro did the landscaping on our new home we built last year. They are very knowledgeable, professional and responsive. Hannah Seaton, designer, created a landscape that enhances the house and is just beautiful. Also, they provided healthy plants and trees that were installed correctly so everything has thrived and filled out nicely. The maintenance crew does an excellent job of keeping every thing looking great. Everyone who I have dealt with is nice, helpful and a pleasure to work with. We definitely recommend them!

Ed Castro has maintained my landscaping for the past 6+ years and has done an outstanding job. The yard always looks great, they maintain the plants and lawn to an exceptionally high level and applications of fertilizer, herbicide, etc. automatically happen when needed. They also have done great work on refurbishing landscape areas that needed refreshing, and the seasonal color beds always are the best on the street. Their pricing is squarely in line with the product they deliver, and in my view is reasonable. Very responsive if you have a special request, like overseeing the irrigation system. Chris Dicks deserves special credit for managing the week-to-week work and Mary Shearon has delivered great results when landscape design and plant selection are needed; they both are very hands-on and on-site through execution until the customer is satisfied. I've found the firm to be very reliable and well-run.

We've always admired Ed Castro's residential design work, but when we started looking for a landscape maintenance company to handle our demanding yard, a neighbor recommended Ed Castro. We met with a few companies, but we were most comfortable with Ed's crews - they were the most knowledgeable about our particular plant material. Also we liked that they all were uniformed and drove clearly-marked trucks (that just felt safer to us with our four kids). After a few months, we can say that they've done a fantastic job. Our landscape has never looked better, even though we are, admittedly, more demanding customers than what they probably service on a regular basis. Highly recommend.

They gave me a proposal for my entire yard, plantings and hardscape. I signed a contract for only a portion of the proposal but they ended up doing some additional work - not in the contract and without my knowledge. Then they came to me demanding payment for the extra work. When I refused to pay, citing the contract, the owner got real ugly with me. Some time later I met a former employee and he told me that was their MO....do extra work not in the contract (claiming a misunderstanding) and then put high-pressure on the client to pay up.

Not sure why anyone would pay this company to do anything. Shoddy work not performed to specifications, and if you have a complaint the boss (Ed) will yell at you. Next time we will hire a teenager.

Ed and his team are definitely on top of their game. I have had the chance to work with several of Ed's team members and have had a great experience with each design associate. An improvement over other landscapers that I have worked with in the past.

What a ripoff. Ed does the selling, but once the contract is signed he leaves you with a new hire just out of college. His arrogance is unbelievable and he hid the first time a problem popped up. Good luck trying to reach him after that! There are plenty of better (and cheaper) alternatives out there. Don't believe Ed's promises!!

We used Ed Castro for a large scale landscape/hardscape project with complex drainage and grading issues. They solved our drainage issues and gave us a great gift in a beautiful and functional back yard. Our designer offered creative solutions, was very responsive, worked with us to meet our budget, and made sure our project was completed on time. Everyone who worked at our home did top calibre work, showed up consistently and on time, cleaned up every day, and were very courteous and professional - which can be a rare combination in contractors. And, the end result was a home run for us that exceeded our expectations. We will work with Ed Castro again and would recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

I inherited a backyard that was 50% complete when I bought my house in Brookhaven. I spoke to numerous landscape designers and companies, and Ed Castro and team seemed to have a better handle on things. Others had let me down with slow response time (and that was while I was trying to give them work!) and mismanaged proposals. Ed and team came in with multiple and terrific design options, managed themselves and the process well, and managed my expectations along the way. I describe the entire experience along the way as exceptional. During a multi-month, multi-phase project where many workers are coming and going, Ed and team were diplomatic, respectful, professional, creative and went the extra mile. Two instances stand out: one worker at the end of the day was cleaning up debris in my front yard (100 yards from where the commissioned work was). He said he wanted the place to be safe. Superb! Another instance: Hannah the designer was out with a tape measure making certain all planting where exactly according to plan. Do all companies do this, I asked? I doubt it. Major kudos to Ed, Hannah, Terry and team. I appreciate it. A very satisfied buyer

Ed Castro did a design and installation for our backyard and we are thrilled with the results. During the design phase they had great ideas and kept the feel of what we wanted for our yard. They provided quick and professional responses to our questions/concerns during the installation. I truly cannot say enough good things about our experience, and will definitely use them again when we are ready to make some changes to our front yard.

I have had a good experience with Ed Castro. They did instalation and continue to do mantanience. Great value considering time spent and money invested. I see a manager in my yard at leat twice a month either working, directing or inspecting.

Although not as satisfied as we could have been with the maintenance care our property received, we were really happy with the landscape plan and our designer. The installation did not go exactly as expected but we're pleased with the overall outcome.
