No other eye center in Georgia provides more comprehensive services for eye care than the Emory Eye Center. With a faculty of 20 ophthalmologists and five doctors of optometry, the Eye Center oversees more than 80,000 patient visits each year. Our physicians and optometrists practice with The Emory Clinic and are faculty members with the Emory University School of Medicine.
Patient care in the Eye Center is supported by strong programs in basic science and clinical research, ensuring.. that patients benefit directly from the most recent treatment advances. The Eye Center is one of the top ten NIH-funded eye research institutions in the U.S., with total grant funds of close to $6 million.
It is the only eye center in Georgia included in U.S. News & World Reports Best Hospitals ranking for eight years in a row. U.S. News & World Report named Emory as one of the country's 15 best eye centers in its July 22, 2002 issue.
In addition, Ophthalmology Times, a newsmagazine for ophthalmologists, recently ranked Emory as one of the top ten eye centers in the country in three categories.
I have had 5-6 appointments st the Emory Eye Center over the last two years. I have waited at least an hour or two for these routine exams! In at least two cases the visits took 3 to 4 hours!!! These were not surgical visits, just exams.

The Emory Eye Clinic doctors are super. Whoever schedules for them is incompetent beyond belief. I have never been seen on time. Generally, I have to wait well over an hour. Once, it was 3 hours. The contempt shown by administrators of this Clinic for patients' time is beyond outrageouse.

I had PRK done by a non Emory physician who did a great job for me but decided at the urging of several friends to use Emory for the other eye. Bottom line got great results with no problems. The support staff at Emory were exceptional (my doctor was typical of most all doctors slow with getting in for an appointment and talking a lot with staff about bs rather than getting patients in and out). Interesting at the non Emory physician he was an exceptional cut above with bedside manner and was not the stereotypical self-centered physician. However his staff was definitely not his best asset. If you took the first physician I had and the Emory support staff WOW what you would have is truly the best in Atlanta. I must say I have been a nurse for many years and was a hospital administrator for many years. Believe me it is hard to find a doctor with the kind of attention to his patients that we as patients deserve and expect. I see this at Northside, Piedmont and St Joseph's as well as countless offices throughout my career and life. If you want more physician service keep looking if you want quality results I got them at Emory.

I waited approximately 2 hours past my appointment time before I was seen. As I waited, I overhead other people saying that they have waited 3 hours beyond their appointment times on previous visits. The service that I received was unsatisfactory as the physician got up to leave before giving me his assessment, and I had to interrupt his reverie to get answers. I did get a clipped apology, but I left with many unanswered questions. I will not be returning.

Dr. Doyle Stulting performed LASIK on both of my eyes. With one procedure he was able to take me from -8 in both eyes to 20/20 and 20/40 vision. Emory is the best!!

I saw Dr. Ann Van Wie at this location. I was impressed with her promptness, thoroughness and the way that she listened. I hope she never leaves!
