Plain bagel not toasted took 20 minutes to get. Help wanders around like they are in a fog. tuna salad was ok as were my eggs. also the bagels are big and very soft. Like chewing gum. Even when toasted. Will never go back!

Okay, I hate having to mix good news with bad. They have great bagels and the breakfast platters taste very good. The bad news comes if you are a wireless laptop user and decide to have breakfast and use the "free internet access" they advertise as one of the reasons to eat at Essex. I had my breakfast plate and the inital crowd began to clear out. I remained on my laptop for approximately 20 more minutes, when the owner's wife balked at refilling my coffee. She actually told me that they were preparing for their lunch rush, I was taking up space, and they needed me to leave. I honestly have never been more shocked in my life. I replied that I was essentially stunned that a paying customer, minding her own business, who was using the wireless they advertised, would be asked to leave. Then the husband came to the table and told me that his wife was in the right and they needed my booth for the after church crowd arriving soon. So, that was my experience....enjoy your Essex bagels, but don't bring your laptop!
