In my 30+ years of eyeglass prescription shopping I have finally met the most honest, consciencious group of professionals! Thank God I can feel assured that I have the best of the best!

After my regular eye doc closed up shop without warning, I ended up at Eyeworks of Decatur. Dr. Birdsong was really great and the front staff was very helpful! (James was very patient with me as I looked through nearly every pair of frames in the store!) Would definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to determine which insurance coverage was best for my husband & I. Besides an amazing selection of eye ware, I received the most thorough exam I have ever experienced. Dr. Jamilah Birdsong was professsional, courtious & made me very comfortable. She explained the process for me and even went as far as to put lenses into an apparatus to simulate my prescriptions, just to confirm it was correct. The shop is clean & bright - James is fantastic and we are so happy we made an apppointment. They accept walk-ins (which technically I was since the appointment was for my husband) - all in all a great experience and conveniently located in Decatur. No problems with parking.

Don't believe the bad spelling of the other reviews on here that say favorable things about this place. They operate under the guise of a boutique eye place with specialized and tailored customer service. They upsell, overcharge, and will give you a hard time getting your prescription, which is your legal right to get. This place was a hassle from start to finish. Also, the people are not so nice and rude when I asked for an itemized receipt. Also, bad at returning phone calls. I had an easier time getting my glasses at Walmart. Don't bother coming here because it's not worth the hassle.

Customer service is very high on our list and we apologize if any client does not feel they were treated like a VIP. That said, this poster has posted the same exact review on other business sites so we are unsure as to if this is even our patient. We are very forthgiving with prescriptions and receipts and if we accidentally fail to provide, all one has to do is ask! We always appreciate all feedback and always strive to be better with each day.
Lousy customer service; takes them days - if ever - to return phone calls; took 2+ weeks to receive trial contacts; small frame selection; nice optometrist but she never got my Rx correct and I had to start all over elsewhere. Wish I could support this local business, but I won't go back or refer them to others.

Though we try to get our patients materials back ASAP, some specialized materials, including certain types of contacts, are made per order by the manufacturer and can take a week or two. We apologize if that seems like a long time for this patient but these things are outside of our control, unfortunately. In these situations we always give the patient a set of trial lenses upon exit of their exam to get though the waiting period. Also, most patients can't wear all types of contact lenses. When a patient insists on a lens that the eye doctor explains will not fit them properly, there will be more time needed for the fit and the patient will probably never have the comfort that the doctor would like to provide them with the correct fitting lens for their cornea and RX. All in all, we strive for the best customer service for all our patients and welcome all feedback.
This place is awesome! I decided to try them because they are so close to my home. They had a very good selection, especially for fun and designer frames

Thank you! We try very hard to provide superior customer service and travel the globe to find many of our unique and exclusive frames. It is always nice to hear that we are able tp satisfy yet another customer!
I travel to Atlanta quite often to see my boyfriend. I was completely out of contacts on my last visit and panicked because I didn't have a current prescription. I called Eyeworks and I told the receptionist my predicament and they were so nice, they fit me in that day! Not only was I impressed by their doctor but I loved their selection of frames. I thought I had a good array of glasses where I live but I was wrong.I got a super pair of sunglasses to wear with my contacts and I am thrilled. When I am in the market for new glasses, I will absolutely go there.
