We took our son for guitar lessons and after several months his progress was minimal and enjoyment was waning. Repeated discussion with the owner and instructor did not result in any beneficial change in instruction methods. When we said we were not going to continue lessons we were told the problem was our son. We found a different instructor who had him playing a basic 3-chord rock pattern the first hour. The difference was like night and day. The moral is: don't settle for a teaching style that doesn't work for you! Guitar instruction should be fun and result in practical benefits from the very beginning!
