most people love to, or at least aspire to support there local shops. if not, you should. firehouse is one of those places i like to support: it's locally owned and operated. good variety of inventory and for a midsize company, the prices are good. plus, the fact that they have martin guitars in stock is,... well...a plus.

I've been to music stores all over the country and Firehouse in Decatur hands down blows away the competition. Experienced, knowledgeable, friendly staff are always ready to help with a smile. It's obvious they enjoy what they do. Great selection for an independent dealer, and if what you want is not in stock, they're willing to make a special order. Their lessons program is great, with several teachers to choose from. Great staff, selection and school makes Firehouse a win-win for all that visit. I highly recommend them to anyone, from beginner to pro!
I don't like shopping. I like to go in, buy a thing, and leave. The great thing about Firehouse is that you can do this; but, when I am apprehensive about whether what I am buying will do what I need it to, the guys there are so knowledgeable of all the equipment, specifically in my case recording equipment, that I don't have to deal with the "purchase, get home, realize I did the wrong thing, and then take it back" scenario. I like that, alot. I trust their judgment on every purchase and consult with pete or gary every time I am making a bank-breaking buy. They have most everything I would ever need in stock; and, if they don't they are very quick to special order. which is awesome. well worth the trip.
I've done business with Firehouse since they opened the doors. I can't say enough about them. They're professional, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else again - and believe me, I've tried them all! Keep up the good work guys! Firehouse rocks!
I've been to this shop three time for different needs and every time, I've been met with nothing but pompous rock stars wanna-bes who think I know nothing about guitars and should be punished for it A couple of days ago I went there to get a nut for my guitar. The guy with the cliche ponytail was not only a complete jerk to me and basically told me that I was wasting my time fixing guitar, he belittled my girlfriend for asking where she could find a new bridge for her banjo. I went to guitar center and bought the piece I needed for 13 dollars that this guy said would cost me over 70 and would never find it. I'll never go back. If you want to waste your time and money by all means go to fire house, if you want good service go to guitar center or somewhere else. I work in retail and I've never left more angry.

Staff and selection at Firehouse is fantastic. The staff knows their stuff but don't pressure you to buy something that won't be a good fit for you!! Innovative rock camp, if I ever get the time to practice and get good enough, I'd love to participate.

My 9-year old son has been taking drum lessons at Firehouse Guitars in Decatur for two years and looks forward to it every week. His teach Derek is patient and has a fun approach to teaching. I have always found the folks who work there to be helpful and informed, and I always feel free to pick up a guitar or bass to try it out without any pressure. They have a great selection and a great space. Definitely check it out if you are in the neighborhood!

While the staff here certainly was friendly they were very overpriced on repairs and tried to get us to buy a new guitar on the spot. We were quoted $175 for a minor part replacement and they tried to get us to do more work than needed. Guitar Boutique on N.Highland was much more helpful and we were quoted $40 for the same peice. The man at the store felt we were given a VERY unrealistic quote at Firehouse and we were guided twords more work than needed. Our guitar plays perfectly now,(for $40) and we highly reccomend the folks on N. Highland for honesty.
