They have an amazing selection of really high quality plants. My wife and I have purchased maybe 20+ plants, all with great results. The staff are fantastic. They really know their stuff, and clearly really like what they are doing. Much better than the staff at most big box stores. It is true that at Gardenhood you might pay a little bit more than at the big box places. Where they have overlapping stock, the staff will tell you that. But there isn't very much overlap, and to me supporting a local business providing quality service and selection as well as enriching the neighborhood is more than worth any difference in price.

I bought a butterfly bush called "royal red" the sales person concurred that the flower would be red. Unfortunatley the flower bloomed purple. When I called Gardenhood they refused to give me a refund but would only give me a store credit. (there receipt does not state there are no refunds nor do I remember signs stating the policy)this was not the case of a blatant mistake on their part. Gardenhood told me that Royal Red "is purple; if one google's it, they will see it to be a red flower. They were very obstinate, and blamed the mistake on their grower, I must admit that my voice was a bit anxious but only toward there policy not the person. Beware
