Though I have just relocated to Oahu, I spent the past two years in an apartment overlooking Moonlight beach in Encinitas, managed by Golden Cricket management. From my first call inquiring about the place, to the application process, move-in, and my entire time there, I found Brittany and everyone who works for GC to be helpful, understanding and professional. During my first winter there, a leak developed in my ceiling due to the very heavy rains driving their way sideways into the roof-line. The maintenance guys went to work and performed extensive effort to find the cause (anyone who knows roof leaks knows how challenging they can be). Once they found the issue, they worked to resolve it, and ended up needing to replace a significant portion of my ceiling due to how much they needed to check. They sealed off the work area so no dust or debris would go anywhere else in the apartment, and worked efficiently to completely replace what they needed to. When they were done, it was good as new, and the problem was solved. I would definitely recommend renting a property managed by GC.

I had a great experience with Golden Cricket Property Management. They let us out of our lease a month early and were prompt with any and all maintenance issues. Got nearly all our deposit back minus carpet cleaning, but we expected that. I'd definitely rent with them again.

We rented from this company because the house was in a great location, and the rent was reasonable for Encinitas. However, shortly after meeting Brittany, we realized that we probably made a mistake. She was incredibly unprofessional in just about every sense of the word (rude, late for meetings, dressed inappropriately, etc.). Our lease said "dog upon approval", but when I asked if we could have a dog in our huge fenced in yard, the answer was, "Absolutely not." No matter what deposit I offered, they were nothing but rude about it. Their reasoning was that she would ruin the carpet and landscaping. First of all, we had to pay to have the carpet cleaned when we moved anyway, and secondly, the landscaping was decent at best and not even maintained in the back for 4-5 months. Next, they overwatered our yard so badly that we received a $400+ water bill, which they expected us to pay. When I called about the bill, they said there was probably a leak, and we should go to the water company to talk to them about it...? Really? Finally, we literally had one bleached spot on the carpet when we moved, we had the carpets cleaned and the kitchen professionally cleaned (which it was NOT when we moved in), and they still charged us $200 of our deposit for some door replacement that wasn't even our fault. Laura was nice sometimes, and they sent a maintenance person over fairly promptly when requested. Otherwise, these landlords are inconsiderate and unprofessional to work with.
