Chris is unprofessional, defensive and childish. Chris said that his plans were so good that we would never hear about any revisions from the city. This wasn't the case and then said that corrections would cost additional money on top of what we already paid him. He also would not guarantee that he would handle any future revisions requested by the city should they come up. Chris became so defensive when trying to work this issue out with him that he refused to talk to us. Not an easy person to work with!
Cost $3,000 - $4,999

Hi Daniel and Megan, I really wish you would have just responded to my last couple of emails - they were important. Our contract was very clear, which we discussed a couple times on the phone. When a City requests additional engineering documents - that is something you are billed for. In good faith I did add the additional notes/clarifications for your municipality without charge. Regardless, I wish you both well moving forward with your renovation.
DON'T HIRE THIS FRAUD!!! He will initially come off as nice and willing to work for you in a professional manner but work with a chip on his shoulder and will purposely sabotage the job if he feels he doesn't get his way. Then run off with your money and quit after being paid in full leaving the job undone. Invest your money elsewhere unless you want to be investing more than you bargained for.

Hi Ms Bartholomew, I think we both know why I had to report you to your Lender & Loan Officer. Renovation loans have very clear rules, and I'm an expert in this field. I think when you let go of the person who knows the most about your renovation~ that action speaks volumes. - Chris
Chris Colvin took us through the renovation of an 80 year old house that many thought should just be torn down. From the vision, drawings, and permitting through completion of the project, he provided service that led to what resulted in a dream home for my wife and I. Chris navigated us throught the very challenging 203K mortgage process and the result was absolute satisfaction and a gain in value of 300K. He is a talented professional and an outstanding person as well.

We hired Gravity in 2009 to re-design our home into our dream home and the process was seamless and could not have gone better. The guys at Gravity helped us to determine what needed to be done, how much the renovation would cost and then after deigning the project and helping us locate a great contractor they worked with us throughout the project to ensure that everything was finished correctly. They helped us pick out all of our finishes and even helped with the paint colors. I would highly reccomend gravity to anyone looking for an architect.

This was not an easy project - but Chris came through! Our renovation was with a 203(k) loan, which Chris knows a LOT about. He was our HUD consultant and inspector, and we probably had a thousand questions every week. What we really liked was that he really understands renovation, is thorough, and can communicate! He helped us work through issues with the contractor and dealt with the bank on releasing progress payments (not always an easy task). A complete remodel from top to bottom, and a success all the way around! Thanks Chris!

WOW, you find out quickly that not many people understand a 203K, but Chris saved the day! He was VERY knowledgeable about the process, and held our hands the whole way. Somewhere along the flurry of questions that I swamped him with I realized that it takes a patient knowledgeable person to handle us 203Kers. Chris was that and more.

About a year ago I purchased a historic old home in downtown Lawrenceville to be renovated for offices. Some of the wood beams (sill plates) supporting the walls on the foundation were rotten with termite damage. Chris built new supports for the walls and floors, replaced the damaged beams, and did additional interior work to the building. End result - a terrific job! This old house is just like new. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We had the pleasure of working with Chris, the owner of Gravity Architects, in July of '08. He was the FHA consultant on our house we bought. We had a horrible time with our lender and an even worse time with our contractors... Chris was right there to help us out. He came out and mediated our conversations with our contractor who was ripping us off by more than $5000. Chris is honest and respectful. He is genuine and caring and would work with him again in a heartbeat. I would recommend him to everyone! My husband and I like him so much we still keep in touch with him!

What a find! Chris has been professional, friendly and fair in helping us find the right balance of character, charm and value for the remodel/renovation of our 1920's bungalow. He is very conscientious, and has the experience and knowledge to provide sound advice throughout the design process. In many ways, he has gone above and beyond the "contract" to help us through our project.

After interviewing several contractors to do an addition to our home, we chose Gravity Architects. Right off we trusted Chris (the owner), very important!! We gave him our ideas and he came back with several design ideas we never would have thought of. The job came in on budget. I can't say one negative thing. Just have Chris come out to talk to you about your project, he will impress you!
