Dr. Gumer has great professional skills and a warm, caring personality. I went to him for a second opinion and stayed with him for the surgery I needed (he diagnosed something my other doctor had not) and as my regular gyn. I highly recommend him.

I saw him for nearly 7 years. Great gyn. but OB? notsomuch. He manipulated me into an induction I later learned I didn't need. There was no discussion of the fact that inductions lead to a 50% higher risk of section. He rushed the induction w/active mgmt when he PROMISED to use low level mgmt of labor. started pressuing for c/s after only ~1hr of pushing; my DH kept asking for more time since the baby was never in any distress. 1.5hrs later, Baby was crowning when he said I needed a c/s; no distress; just a tired mom and an impatient dr. He finally got me to consent to a section by saying he could use forceps or vacume but thought the section would be safer. There was no discussion of the risks of c/s to me, to future fertility, to baby from being pulled back out of the birth canal. I stayed w/the practice for my second pregnancy b/c the other practices I looked at weren't much better. I chose the devil I knew. Before I told him I was choosing not to VBAC, he'd already started to pull the "big baby" card on me. My 2nd baby was only ~7.5 lbs. my first was 9.5lbs. My 3rd baby w/diff dr: **VBA2C** 10.5 lbs and bigger head w/an intact perimeum! (It pays to be a patient dr.) All in all Dr. Gumer is really nice, I'll probably see him again when I'm done having kids, but if you don't want to be cut, stay away from NAWS or go to ICAN and be educated w/facts. avg wait for appt over 7yrs: over 1hr; billing practices questionable at worst, incompetent at best.

A sweet and caring man and a tender and honest Dr. He performed emergency surgery on me in 2002, helped diagnose and helped me get pregnant with my daughter, and even came back 2 days early from Christmas/New Year's vacation to personally deliver her via C-Section in Jan 2004! He is so caring and gentle with you and really cares. I would recommend him to anyone! He is REALLY missed!!! (I live too far away!)

I've had a few ob/gyn's and was referred to Dr. Gumer by a family friend after being disappointed in a doctor in the practice next door. I was impressed with him on my first visit where he sat down in front me and spent probably 15 minutes getting to know me, my history and any special issues. This little consultation took place before I even got in a gown. 2 years later I am still very happy with him and now that I am pregnant I see him very often and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend Dr. Gumer.

I adore this man. Dr.Gumer is kind and patient and really cares. I don't think you could find a better gyn. I drive over an hour to his office and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

He has been an OB for awhile and his manner and depth of knowledge put me at ease while being pregnant. I knew I didn't have to worry about anything that he knew his practice. His nurse Susan is amaising, very responsive and really made the entire pregnancy and birth really really great wouldn't want anything more in a doctor!!!

10 years and 2 kids and I would not go to another OB/GYN. He is kind and actually listens. It's a big practice- so you Do have to wait- but Dr. Gumer is worth it!

Great bedside manner. He listens and cares about what you have have to say. Most importantly he is knowlegeable and professional. I haven't always had good luck with not having to spend a lot of time in waiting rooms ... but some things are worth the wait.

Very proffesional and patient, willing to take the time to explain things to you. Makes you feel very comfortable. Also, the nurses are responsive to phone messages with questions, etc.
